I super glued a little square of rubber on my mute button so I can find it as quickly as possible.
The family that is deliriously joyful about having Frosted Flakes for dinner. I guess they spent this month’s grocery money on rent. Shades of the Great Depression. The ad just makes me sad.
The ones I find to be saddest ads qua ads are the ones that might have been amusing or clever the first half-dozen times, and then became obnoxious after that half-hour was up.
Apparently the Idaho Potato Commission produces a funny commercial watch year… After seeing this year’s commercial, I’m wondering if they’ve been smoking something funny.
It’s a family around the dinner table; Mom is proudly serving potatoes. Where are they from? Her own garden, of course! Upon learning this, Dad throws his plate to the floor, the toddler flings a potato chunk, and Grandpa yanks out his false teeth and throws them in Granddaughter’s potatoes. Granddaughter starts screaming, and I start wondering how I can make sure my potatoes are coming from Maine or anywhere other than Idaho.

There’s some commercial where the guy goes to the counter and orders avocado toast,“hold the avocado”. “You mean, you want…just toast”? And he looks at the camera an=d says “things are so expensive these days.”
If things are expensive, avocado toast would be more expensive than plain toast, so I have no idea what point he thinks he’s making.
Not sure of the ad you’re talking about. I assume it’s an ad for some place that offers less ‘product’ at no discount to the consumer. WAG
