I’m in eastern Iowa, and today on CNN, I finally saw one of those infamous 1-800-Kars4Kids commercials.
Earworm time.
I can’t say that I really hate this commercial but, damn, that Ricola couple has been standing on the mountain with their alphorns since the 1980s and the commercial has barely evolved. That has to be a record.
It’s one of those situations where the ad is so iconic they can’t change it. Otherwise they’re going to be like Wendy’s - no commercial of theirs will ever top “Where’s the beef?”
They already do a couple of dead kids.

Nothing will ever top the Kars4Kids commercial where the kids are making a half-assed attempt of playing instruments. It just about tops the radio jingle.
Words can’t describe how much I despise Progressive’s “turning into their parents commercials”
The “counselor” is a snot who seems to thnk people can’t make jokes or be friendly and hospitable.
If I could be as good as my parents were I’d be happy.
I’ve tried to break this gently to people, but if you’re offend by the “turning into your parents” commercials … you’ve turned into your parents.
I find it extremely offensive that there are commercials where a guy turns into a superhero.

Speaking of endless ‘Wicked’ commercials, can we add ‘Better Man’ with that grotesque CGI ape? I’m given to understand Robbie Williams was second only to Jesus Christ in popularity in England, but I’m only vaguely aware of who he is or his ‘story’. Looks stupid!
Yep. Telling a guy with a “funny” BBQ apron “take it off or i am taking it off” and telling some poor guy who isnt part of the thing but just came in- he has to go back out and come back in again.

Some of those Progressive commercials ARE funny, to me anyway. I liked the one where he has the word “QUINOA” on an easel, and asks them, “How do you pronounce this?”
“Quin-oh-ah?”
“Wa-keen?” (Joaquin?)
If you don’t actually know, it’s pronounced keen-wah.
