Is there a huge Norwegian expat community in Durango?
Nø.
It’s like Trivago seeks out weird, sketchy men. Teeth guy might even beat out skeevy, unshaved guy in a raincoat, the OG Trivago sketcher.
If it’s the same ad as we get in the UK “teeth guy” is Jürgen Klopp, former manager of Liverpool FC. And yes, those teeth are somewhat implausible.
As for another weird ad.. well, see what you make of this:
I forgot to rant about it last year, but lucky for me they brought it back this year…the Vanguard commercial with the graduating twins has lots of potential. Sibling rivalry for 18 years! Then they graduate, and finally do something together. Aww. Except the twin talking to the parents delivers his lines with all the emotion of a robocaller. “Thank-you-Mom-and-Dad-we couldn’t-have-done-it-without-you.” And if they’re supposed to be doing things together for a change, why aren’t both of them bubbling over with praise for their parents? ![]()
This one is amusing…kid comes home from college, evidently in the morning. Proud mom approaches… “hey, son, let’s do some vitamins!”… because that’s the first thing I want to do with my child.
That one creeps me out too. They stand there and watch each other take their pills as though their next move is to slip on a pair of Nikes and wait of a comet to hit Earth.
I saw that one a lot when I was playing games on my phone. I became a bit bored wth the games and the ads gave me the extra shove to quit playing. Disturbing doesn’t do justce in describing those sorts of ads.
Dude! Too Soon! ![]()
That one annoys me because: Dudes! Eat right!
Yes, that Nature Made commercial is weird somehow, though presumably they were going for touching.
What’s the one with the two little girls selling candy bars on both sides of the street? Something about a money transfer service. Anyway, annoying music (“I’m the champion, I’m number one”). Plus, the little girl who rolls her eyes while her customer fumbles for money. She makes my slappin’ hand tingle!
The kid in this Safelite commercial is an annoying little snot. He and his dad are practicing hitting baseballs in the driveway when Dad’s errant swing leads to a cracked windshield. The kid says, “Nice shot, Dad,” followed by a mocking “Ooh.” Particularly annoying as Dad is clearly not happy about the accident. I would not have blamed Dad for slapping the kid, who should have known better.
So the dad breaks the windshield and your take-away is the kid should have gotten slapped for stating the obvious?
No, the kid should have recognized that now is not the time to mock his father.
So not “no”, yes.
Do you think I meant the child should literally have been slapped in the driveway?
I think you are saying that the child should have been slapped for stating the obvious. But I am not above being corrected.
Christ. Just forget I said anything. I apologize deeply for triggering you.
Am I the only one here who automatically reaches for the MUTE button whenever a Door Dash commercial comes on? (I’m assuming, of course, that it’s available in both Canada and the US.)
