Thank you, everyone. FTR, I’m only 32 (my parents aren’t even 65 yet). I didn’t take it as an insult Ace0Spades, in fact, I was flattered.
John Carter, I don’t know where you got the idea about my loving the Brooklyn Dodgers, but now I understand your post about me in the old superpowers thread (I’m too lazy to go searching for it).
Anyway, I’ve got to go now and put my dentures back in the glass and drink my Metamucil.

If it’s any consolation Zev, I thought you were mid to late 20’s. Didn’t you post some pictures some time ago of a trip you took? Maybe during the period wiped out in the crash? I seem to remember you didn’t look like I expected (people seldom do), I can’t really remember how old I estimated you were from the pictures, but I realized you were slightly older than I’d originally thought. I guess that probably isn’t any consolation at all, though. “Say, Zev, I thought you were young until I saw your pictures.” (I’m 27, so I’m not too far behind you.)
Age aside, I’m impressed by the intelligence on this board. Even the teenagers are well read and quite eloquent. Very impressive.

My curiosity has been piqued because I’ve met a spate of people recently who’ve assumed I’m an age that’s more than a couple of years removed from the truth - I’m wondering if the assessment is based strictly upon my appearance, or a combination of my appearance and my demeanor/conversational abilities/etc.
I have a tendency to view most of the people posting on these boards as being more in their mid 30’s through early 40’s.

I’m 17. not sure if anyone thought otherwise. But I do know a few dopers thought I was a female, so I think I’ll just mention that I’m a guy also.

Heh. Another age-gap thing: The only “Zev” I’ve ever heard of is the sexy woman on Lexx. [first season “Zev” second and later seasons, after she was recreated after she died, “Xev”]
I have absolutely no clue what age anyone would picture me as being.
I am another Doper who always assumed that zev was a lot older than he really is.
For the record, I’m 28. I have no idea if anyone else on the boards had thought I was significantly older or younger than that.
Even Dopers who have met me face to face think I’m younger than I really am.
Nothing like the combination of immaturity and good genes.

Even in RL people don’t get my age right I’m 28 and online people tink I’m a girl for some reason but nope I’m a guy too
My daughter just graduated from college and my son from HS but I’m actually very, very young!

I have no idea how I sound on here (I’m guessing, oh, 9), but in reality, I’m all of 16 years.
My age is variable, like a chameleon.
People used to mistake me for older online all the time… (In the early eighties, I used to frequent a few local BBS’s, and ended up with a university-aged peer-group… Got a few double-takes the first few times we got together in meatspace.) I imagine that this happens less frequently now that I’m in my thirties.
On the other hand, in real life, people tend to assume I’m ten or fifteen years younger than I actually am, at least at first. (Especially older people.)
And yes, Zev, I figured ya for about forty.
