Good and bad, of course. Just like mutants. Xavier vs. Magneto.
Raina isn’t a very nice person. The Inhumans probably aren’t prepared for when Raina adapts to her new form and resumes her somewhat megalomaniacal ways. She isn’t going to sit still for pacifist & isolationist ways.
Odds on her eviscerating Eyeless Joe before he gets her calmed down? No, I think she’s going to be out on the streets hunting down Daisy, Coulson and anybody else she’s miffed at.
Well, scuttlebutt has it that Avengers 3 will mark the end of the Avengers we know and transition into a different team or three. She could easily be a part of West Coast Avengers. Although it is more likely that she is, or leads to, the introductory character for Inhumans. At this point it’s wide open.
I thought it was Avengers **2 **that was the end of an era, especially since Chris Evans’ last contracted gig with Marvel with in CA3.
I have heard (Evans did some speculating in a recent interview) that he would return for at least some part of Avengers 3. It is my hope he is not to be the token sacrifice during the major defeat that is likely to happen during part one. I am not going to lie, the idea of the cliffhanger to part I being Evans picking up the shield again and leading an Inhuman army against a near-omnipotent Thanos in Part II would be simply amazing.
I thought Evans confirmed he’s contracted for 6 Marvel films. So far he’s done CA 1&2, and Avengers 1 & 2 (shortly). Leaving CA 3 & Avengers 3. And he confirmed his cameo in Thor 2 didn’t count against that 6.
The only wildcard is if they decide to use him in another “offshoot” instead of in Avengers 3. I personally think that would be an odd choice, but it’s ***possible ***that they use a CA death as a set-up sacrifice to get either Black Panther or Captain Marvel into the scooby gang. They could also do this as a cameo scene, and tell Evans to keep his trap shut this time as to whether it counts or not.
I don’t think that’s likely (except as a cameo/fakeout). I think that either at the end of CA3, or during the stinger scene, CA is going to retire/“die”, and then Bucky and Sam are going to duke it out over who gets to be the next Cap, perhaps even both taking on aspects of his iconic presentation and dividing up between Avengers and West Cost Avengers.
This sets up, like you said, the possibility of the original CA (Evans) coming back as a “surprise” reinforcement in A3, although not as a real surprise to fans who can count.
I mean, of course when they promoted the show, they used the one character we were already familiar with: Coulson. Why would you promote it with new characters played by unknown actors?
FWIW, I think your hatred of Skye’s character is skewing your perception. I don’t mind her character at all, and I don’t perceive her as being the center of the show at all. Certainly, some of the plotlines have centered around her, just as several plotlines have centered around Coulson, May, Ward, Fitz, and basically every regular character. You just remember the Skye ones more because you dislike her. Just my two cents, but to me, it’s a fairly balanced ensemble show.
I don’t hate Skye or even dislike her. I just feel she’s being made too central a figure on the show.
I understand it’s a good narrative hook to bring a new character into a setting when a series starts. This allows the writers to introduce the setting and characters to the viewers on the basis that they’re being introduced to the new character.
But just because you make a new character the star of the series doesn’t mean you have to make them the star of the organization. It’s a little too Mary Sue for me.
When the Inhuman’s movie was announced and they started dropping hints on the show, I speculated that the Inhuman’s movie was actually going to be an AoS centered movie. It could still happen but the show is moving REALLY fast on the Inhumans stuff and that movie got pushed back a year so now I’m not quite sure.
I can see Skye being the official liaison between SHIELD and Inhumans, and they’ve got a long way to go towards developing a whole team of Inhumans. Is it going to be the royal family, with Black Bolt, Medusa, et. al?
Marvel is really pushing the Inhumans hard, now. Medusa has been front-and-center; the rest of the royal family, less so. But they just announced “Uncanny Inhumans” with Black Bolt* splashed all over the ads. So it looks like Marvel is trying to raise their profiles. Maybe in preparation for an Inhumans movie.
Does lead me to wonder if Crystal might be tied up in the Fantastic Four rights, though; she was one of Johnny’s girlfriends and an FF member for a while…
Who was dead (again) except now he’s not (again). And yet, the Internet keeps making Jean Gray jokes about returning from the dead. Go figure.
That’d work! Alas, we’ve got a teleporter. I wonder if Gordon is a royal? How can they avoid bringing up the royal family until the movie? Is it 2017 or 2019 when it comes out?
I doubt it - didn’t all the Royal Family grow up in Attilan?
Oh, I’m sure they’ll drop hints.
But I doubt MCU Attilan is just tucked in the Himalayas or anywhere else as easily accessible as that Kree city. It’s either on the Moon or some pocket dimension, I reckon.
If the MCU Inhuman royal family lives in the Blue Area of the moon, Earth probably wouldn’t have met them yet. (although Heimdall should’ve seen them, I guess.) An Inhumans movie can afford the sfx to put Attilan on the moon; the tv series won’t.
And as the comics recently introduced the idea of Inhuman enclaves scattered in secret across Earth, that’s likely what we’ll see: Agents of SHIELD deals with the nonroyal earthbound Inhumans, and Inhumans with the Inhuman royal family of Attilan on the moon.
