But does she know for sure? He tells her to run, she gets away, hears a shot, then hears Fitz. As far as she knows Will shot himself or was killed by the beast.
I think I heard his voice after the gun shot saying run, but I don’t expect to see him again. The portal was destroyed by Daisy.
With Fitz determined to save Simmon’s squeeze? He’ll be on earth by Thanksgiving. Fitz will figure out a way of energizing a portal using duct tape, 3 alligator clips, a length of aluminum foil and one of his batteries. IOW he’s going to science the shit out of it.
Based on what Hunky Astronaut said about the Thing getting into your mind, I don’t think anyone can assume that anything anyone heard was real.
Fitz is already stuck in the friend zone - a short hop to the twilight zone should be no sweat at all.
Right, we call that “debriefing” . It’s standard, and there’s no way it could have waited this long. Mind you, the love story might not have come out.
Well, she doesn’t know. But she certainly knows he was alive 30 seconds previously. The whole things was obviously a fakeout to get us to think that she had been suffering untold torments and was PTSD’d beyond recognition. And while obviously it makes sense for her to have culture shock, her withdrawal into silent shock makes no sense at all once we see what her experience actually was.
I am apparently on a different wavelength, because I thought this was kind of terrible, one of the worst episodes since Civil War. I like that they were trying to be ambitious with everything on the planet and no B-plot, I just don’t think it was executed all that well. It didn’t help that as soon as she fell through the trap door I turned my wife and read her the rest of the episode script word for word (note: hyperbole!). I guess I assumed the guy would die at the end rather than be the hook moving forward, so I was wrong on one thing.
I actually expected there to be a “civilization” of sorts made up of the various people sucked through the portal over the ages. With far more robust men than women, Jemma would be immediately enslaved. The rest of the episode would be her getting involved in the Underground Railroad/Rebellion and her need to go back would be to rescue the other females.
C’mon, Jeb! You’re letting down the Whedon name!
The Kree don’t need a portal to get to Earth, they have spaceships for that.
She does say “I’ve got to go back” which means she believes there is some chance he is still alive. What struck me as unrealistic was that she’s got every reason to think she will die on that planet, and he’s a good looking man who has been alone for 15 years, and yet they don’t hook up for weeks.
Naturally, in the followup episode, once Fitz somehow duct tapes together an interdimensional portal from a few rocks…one targeted exactly at this planet and not anywhere else in the multiverse…it’s pretty obvious that they are going to end up letting that monster, whatever it is, go to Earth.
Well, given Coulson’s new penchant for not sharing vital information with the people who deserve and need to know it, it’s entirely possible that May’s ex survived and Phil just won’t tell her. It’s also still possible that he Inhumaned himself to safety, and we’ll get some throwaway line about still identifying bodies.
But, yeah, if that massive spoiler in the preview bears out, it’s a crappy thing to do to viewers.
Which the Inhumans fear. Thus leading to a team-up between the Inhumans and SHIELD to defeat whatever the monster is, with the ATCU and Lash as the wild cards. (I’m hoping they kill Ward soon.)
The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that Will is the monster. 14 years eating nothing but what can be scavenged from an alien biome? Not possible, says I.
Individual shows don’t have control over the previews do they?
I know it’s about the worst thing to quote in this scenario, but Family Guy often makes a joke about a special guest “that you probably knew about because Fox ruined the surprise in the previews”.
So I wouldn’t doubt that the spoiler is real and that if the producers had their way they wouldn’t have had it play like that, but it was out of their hands
One of these days, I’m going to come to my senses, and stop reading the Previously.tv forums.
At least, I hope so.
They don’t. That’s why no one should put stock in what the network promo says.
I always go to a Gilmore Girls promo from years ago “Lorelei learns a terrible Gilmore family secret.” - ominous shot of Edward Herman as Richard Gilmore.
The next episode… nothing at all like that occurred.
Previews always lie.
