I now see the ‘hourglass’ or the ‘spinning circle’ in front of Hive when he pauses to think.
Just FYI, it is spelled Kree, not Cree.
So it’s been ~10,000 years and Kree reapers still dress the same?
For that matter, it’s been ~10,000 years since the Kree started experimenting on humans (and apparently ~9990 years since they abandoned the project) yet they still respond eagerly to the beacon Ward sets up? Were they just on an extended coffee break or something?
I suppose at some point, someone will have to mention that the TV-Kree are as static as their comic-book counterparts, just to explain how they could have visited Earth thousands of years ago and still have some interest in it, yet haven’t bothered to simply conquer it.
Apparently these two Kree reapers were put in stasis in our Solar System to be available when needed. Didn’t Hive say that?
I must’ve missed it.
Those guys must have racked up some serious back pay.
I really like Lady Grunt and they gave her a more than typical level of characterization. Made me hope a little that she’ll become a real character and stick around- although, I know it’s more likely just so we’ll feel something when she gets killed.
(full disclosure: I watched this episode while sleepy- I made it to the end, but I was quite sleepy- it’s entirely possible she’s already dead and I just missed it)
Did anyone else ask themselves, “Wait, did he say Kree Reavers?”
Yeah, I had “who are you” moment when the redshirts got actual lines and personalities.
I was disappointed with the Kree Reapers. I like my cool advanced aliens to actually be cool and advanced. They were just muscle thugs and the flashback to the first experiment looked primitive too. As soon as Hive mentioned signaling Kree I really hoped we might get to see that Kree guy from the episode that also had Sif storming around with amnesia. He was fun.
I’m not clear on the Kree/inhuman timeline. I assumed the Kree came to earth during very early human civilization, say 50k years ago and when they showed Hive’s flashback it looked like it may have taken place when humans were migrating out of Africa but then later it sounds like it’s only been a few thousand years?
I’m guessing that Lady Grunt is this lady:
She’s listed as “Agent Piper”.
I guess we’ll see if she comes back. With Hunter and Bobbi gone, they do have room for a couple more characters, so maybe they’re trialing bit parts to see if any of the actors stand out and get fan notice.
There’s also the guy who looks like a young McNulty from the Wire. He appears to be something like Coulson’s assistant and has been in the last few episodes and has gotten a few lines.
Let it be noted that this fan noticed.
Thanks for the link. I may decide to notice her again later this evening.
I thought the new Inhuman recruits were fun, the speedster and the guy who controls metal. The show seems determined to squash that, and they’ve been sabotaging Lincoln too. I like him just fine; I just wish they’d treat his character better. Daisy gets to go from delinquent hacker to super-power super agent in practically no time but Lincoln is the red-headed step child who can’t do anything right.
With rumors of Hunter and Bobbi’s spinoff TV going bust they might even be back ON the show.
I can’t wholly remember why they were written off. They took the blame for something SHIELD did right? So did they leave because they were exposed as spies? or because they’re not actively wanted by the law?
Either way I guess it doesn’t matter. You could bring them back and have them just chill on the ship until (insert threat here) shows up and they can just shoot and punch things.
They were involved in the death of a high Russian official. If they were SHIELD there would be hell to pay, but if they were innocent bystanders than all would be forgiven. So with a wink and a nod, SHIELD cut them loose and made sure no future contact was allowed.
It’s all a MacGuffin and makes no sense in real life, but it’s a comic book.
That’s how they treated Hunter most of the time he was a regular… maybe it’s just a quirk of the writer’s room to have a whipping boy character.
