Daisy assembles the Secret Warriors to rescue the Shield team that was captured. Then lots of things happen.
Well, I can’t say I was completely blindsided, but it did catch me by surprise how it all went down. The idea of Hive infecting Inhumans puts them on the bench until they figure out how to neutralize the threat. Daisy being the mole on the inside makes sense with what we know about Hive - he too revenge as Nathaniel and now he’s taking revenge as Ward.
Malick saw his own death accurately, just not by the right hands. Daisy’s a killer, but like in all comics we will right it off because she was infected. I like Juan and Yo-yo not trusting Shield and wanting to get out of the team.
“Lincoln wanted to pump me full of drugs.”
“Well, he is a doctor.”
Another episode where lots of stuff happened, a few good swerves, double crosses, and subterfuge. And at least one real death.
All the female leads except Yo-Yo now have facial injuries. Make of that what you will.
This ep was a definite step up quality-wise from the last couple, although I somehow missed where and when the Secret Warriors were originally organized.
For a while there, I thought they were going to go with freeze-vision guy somehow re-animating. I’m gonna claim, however, and you can’t prove otherwise, that I sorta saw it coming that Daisy was going to be the mole, not because of anything she did before the reveal, but because it made the most sense for the continuing storyline.
During the first 40 min of this episode SHIELD was starting to lose me again. Everything just seemed so over-dramatic, and Daisy’s character was really starting to piss me off.
Can’t quite put my finger on why, but everything she did annoyed me. When did she become the de-facto second-in-command? Whatever happened to May? She just stopped being in charge one day because Daisy has powers? No, you let Daisy and her powers be the muscle while May, who has years of experience and intelligence, be the brains.
Her stupidly forced relationship with Sparky is just the worst. Everything is overdramatic and SUPER SERIOUS because TV couples, unlike real couples, never just talk. They have to constantly be “winning”.
I say all that to say I’m glad they made her the mole and put her on the bad-guy side of things because it makes her character intriguing. The heel turn worked out well for Ward after all…
The part I didn’t get, was if Daisy was being controlled by Hive, why did she try to get Lincoln to escape with her. Is she only partially controlled?
And if you know there is an inhuman mole, shouldn’t you lock up the tera-genesis crystals instead of leaving them sitting in the cloak room?
Daisy is on the plane with Lincoln, she’s urging him to fly faster so they can pick up the SWs who are on the other side of the planet.
Daisy sent out the bat signal. Jose was at the end of a nice date with a guy and had invited him up to his apartment when his watch signaled and he had to send his date away. Yo-yo was getting on a bus when her watch signaled, she told the driver that she had another ride and stepped off the bus. Then they both waited for the Quinjet to pick them up (in different locations).
Anyone care to explain how Sparky’s powers work exactly?
I gave a lot of Benefits of the Doubt when “electricity” turned into shooting it at someone and having them fly back into a wall. It’s like getting hit with a defibrillator ya know? Your body convulses and the like.
IIRC he once made a dude float or something. That’s ok because static electricity I guess.
But since when can electricity turn into lassos and grab things? It’s so bad even Ms. Cups mentioned “Wait, what are his powers again?”
I’ve always been under the impression that his power is the ability to generate and manipulate massive amounts of static electricity. Same as Virgil Hawkins in the DC Universe, except he doesn’t ride on a manhole cover.
Not to mention the McGuffin, and why wasn’t someone watching the inhumans 24/7, or setting up alarms etc?
My guess about the Hive brainwashing is it’s not direct mind control. She isn’t a puppet, she just sees things differently now. She probably wanted to get Sparky to join Hive too.
Ward always loved Daisy. Now that she’s turned, I imagine that they’ll finally be able to have their romance that they’d been bound for at the beginning of Season 1.
Which should give Sparky a bit of oomph to go after him.
Lincoln is in the holding cell, Daisy comes up to the window. After a bit of conversation we get that she’s infected by Hive (we see it via flashback from the mission when they confronted Malick on the rooftop), framed Lincoln, escaped from her pod because she was the one who programmed them, and was headed off to rejoin Hive. She wanted Lincoln to join her but he refused. She said she’s always been seeking something to complete her, and now she has found it with Hive.
She grabs the orb, the Terrigen crystals, and heads out. As she leaves she uses her powers to basically shake the base down around SHIELD as everyone huddles for cover.
