Ahh, yet another tale of cum guzzling asshatted teens and their parents

And wouldn’t that be the reason why movies have a rating system? I agree, certain things should have age limits.

I really would like to know what would have happend if some 16 YO on this ‘field trip’ got drunk and had the crap beaten out of him by another strip club patron.

Also, if these students don’t feel that rules apply to them, what other rules will be too hard for them to live with? Drunk driving? That only applies to everbody else. Rape? Come on, look at her and look at me, she wanted it. Did you ever wonder why we hear so many stories like this in college athletes? Ever think they got to be like that because somebody showed them, at one point, that the rules that govern the rest of us don’t apply to them.

Is anyone else disturbed by the combination of the OP’s extremely puritanical values and their thread title? Payton’s Servant gets my vote for “most frightening poster.”

any moral considerations aside, this is the biggest concern that i have. i have seen this too often- they are given a free pass, or a wink and nod when it comes to rule enforcement, and they get it into their head that they can do pretty much anything and get away with it. this is not restricted to athletes, but they are the most visible and egregious offenders due to how many people have a vested interest in their success (parents, coaches, administrators, etc.)

anyway, they agreed to this code of conduct i order to play. as far as i can tell, this was a free exchange in order to gain a priveledge. they wanted their cake and eat it too- what’s most surprising to me is that there might be some actual enforcement this time.

From the OP:

I wish using the word “like” in such a manner could be made illegal. Because like when teenagers like speak like this it makes me want to like disembowel them with like a Garden Weasel or something.

Woah. I agree with Clint on something. The end times are near!

At least they didn’t include the gum smacking, or phlegm hacking in the quote. :stuck_out_tongue:
That’s annoying, and gross whatever the age or gender that does it.

Yep.

I guess I’m caught in the irony of the situation…

Parents help students violate not just the law, but a school “Code of Conduct”.

Then scream bloody murder when called on it. Blame strip club.

Adam yax makes some good points about status vs responsibility. I bet those Enron execs got into strip clubs when they were under age (metaphorically at least). There will always be people who think there are laws for “us” and for “them”. They never get it when everybody has to play by the same rules. That’s not fair!

Here in bible belt Texas, I would have been all for going to strip clubs while in High School. My chances of getting past the door man would have made the lottery look like a lead pipe cinch. However, I never had to sign a “Code of Conduct”. For all I know I could have went to a strip club and bragged about it in the locker room on Monday and nothing would have happened.

You realize adults speak the same way, right? The difference is that when an adult says “We, ah, we don’t do stories on, er, when dirty old men go to… to strip clubs”, the newspaper edits it, so all you see is “We don’t do stories on when dirty old men go to strip clubs.”

Oh yes, sex is eeevil. Naked bodies are the devil’s spawn!

Teenagers looking at boobies…why hell, let’s just ban every teenage girl wearing hiphuggers and halters from the mall. Oh wait, Mom let me buy those clothes, and mom knows best.

Because everyone knows if you tell teens about how eeevil sex is, by Gawd then they won’t do it. Yep, that’ll cure that problem.

The “outraged” parents blow my mind. What about your ribbed vibrator mom, or better hide the porno mpegs you downloaded dad.

But you say “It’s illegal by Gawd” Yes it is unfortunately. And while I agree that children should not be exposed to sexual things, high school boys and girls have been screwing forever.
So fucking what if they went to a titty bar.

But wait, these kids might have had access to alcohol!
Damn, I guess teens never drink either until they go to strip clubs.
What do I know…

A fucking outrage, I say. Damn kids do nothing but fuck and drink all day long.

This country is so fucking backwards re sexuality, it’s surreal.
The religion inspired puritanical unease over sexual issues in the US is mind-boggling.

Not to mention many of the self-appointed arbiters of All That Is Good And Pure have been busted for doing the Evil Deed.

And then these same shithead “parents” who don’t care if their kids go to these strip clubs are oh-so-horrified when their sweet, innocent little urchins end up getting pregnant or impregnating others at the age of 16! Of course, some parents live like whores or gigoloes themselves (different lover in their house every month or so, in front of the kids ) so they sure set a great example for their kids, eh?

The fact that the laws regarding sexuality and alcohol may be backward (and probably are, IMO) haven’t, to my mind, got a whole lot to do with the situation at hand.

Point is, they weren’t supposed to go to the strip club but they did anyway, ergo violating both the laws in place in Florida and the code of conduct which they’d apparently signed twice - once at the beginning of the term and again right before the trip (source: 5/12 edition of NY Newsday). They violated, hence, they’re being punished. Tough noogies, kiddos.

Whether the restrictions placed upon them by the school district were silly was something that ought to have been brought up before the trip. If you’re not willing to deal with the consequences of certain actions, then don’t act in certain ways.

The school set up it’s policy on these things in part to protect the students, but more, I think, to protect themselves.

These students, and one jackass parent, could have opened up the school to a devastating liability. If one of those students had been injured, or killed, while intoxicated after going to a strip club while on a school sponsored trip, the school district would have been sued into oblivion. Most likely by the very folks who are suing them now.

Their actions endangered themselves AND the school. They should all serve out their suspensions in full.
