I’ve asked at least three times on these boards for someone to argue that Obama is the better chice for someone who wants small government and so far no one has taken up the challenge. Polls close in 8 hours or so, so get cracking if you want to be the first. Also, note that I want small government, not just fiscally responsible government (that is, I want low government spending on an absolute basis, not just when compared with tax revenue).

There may be very little difference. If so,why do you say that is where you base your vote? I am voting repub because they say they are fiscally conservative, but are not. The dems don’t say they are.
Except everybody says they will make the government smaller. I saw an interview with Carter once, in which he said he tried very hard to make the government smaller . In spite of his efforts ,it got bigger. The system feeds itself and grows in spite of who is in charge.

I don’t think many expected Bush 43 to be a good president. He was simply the less offensive of two miserable candidates. 50% of the voting public beat you to the “told ya”, Stoid, and here you are trying to take credit for your dog’s superior powers of insight into the hearts of men on your effing TV.

I disagree that there is very little difference. Also, can you provide any evidence for the proposition that Obama has said he’s for smaller government? On the contraryan several of his policies would massively increase the size of governmentan perhaps irreversibly (UHC).
