Am I the only person in the world that finds this kind of humour lame and totally unfunny? There are a couple great sketches on all the shows, but a large majority seem to be the actors making fools of themselves and not being funny…
Maybe I’m not sophisticated enough.
Air Farce is awful, I agree, but sketch comedy when done right can be absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately, it’s really really hard to find good sketch comedy.
It’s so sad; Air Farce was a continuous riot when it was on CBC Radio. (Ici Farces-Canada!) But it went into the shit tank when it got on TV. I guess it couldn’t compete with 22 Minutes and got cold feet, or something.
I don’t like 22 Minutes either.
Air Farce on TV was okay for about a season and a half, but then they just kept doing the same sketches over and over again that were only mildly funny to begin with. Their jokes are too cliched and corny. I liked 22 Minutes a lot better, but I think that it’s been on for long enough and it will lack something without Rick Mercer. On the other, SNL was never very funny. You’d think that with that many famous comedians they could come up with a better show. I miss Kids in the Hall.
Now, Kids in the Hall had FAR more funny sketches. Like any show, it had some bad ones, but they were about as common as a good SNL one - one or 2 a show.
