Air Strikes on Pakistan & ID'ing the Dead

Supposedly, the US has twice (within a week) performed strategic air strikes on Pakistan (near the Afghani border) where the right-hand man of Osamma was supposedly residing. The FBI is planning to ID the dead.

Ok, but the Pakistan government ain’t too thrilled about the US’s “good neighbor” policy as they “tour” the country next door. So, why would the Pakiis even allow the FBI to come sift through the rubble and claim bodies for use at their whim? Doesn’t this constitute an invasion of Pakistan? Either way, what authority does the FBI hold to do this, under the US Constitution?

I know, you want cites, right? OK…

There’s nothing that says the FBI is actually going to be in Pakistan. They are only planning to do the DNA tests. Presumably this is because they either have the lab or the database needed to identify al-Zawahiri [I suppose their right to this information may be debated]. The only reports I’ve seen say that the Pakistani government obtained the bodies for testing I would assume the FBI has to request the samples from them.

By the way, ‘Paki’ is an offensive term in parts of the world (e.g. Britain), even if not in the US (you may recall the reaction to Bush’s use of the term).
