I’m not sure what airlines fly in Canada, hence this question. How much might it cost to fly from either Seattle or Vancouver, BC to Toronto, ON? Thanks.
Here’s a link to all the carriers that service Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (YYZ):

Also, with a quick check on Orbitz, I found flights as low as $420, but it seems that you could find fares even lower. It depends on flight dates and what booking agent you use. Sometimes it’s cheaper to use agents such as Orbitz, Hotwire, Expedia, etc., but sometimes it’s cheaper to look at the sites of individual airlines because they have specials and online deals not offered to the booking agents.
Could be lots, could be cheap.
Try and see if you can fly into Hamilton instead of Toronto. Hamilton is about a 45-minute drive away, and more and more budget airlines are flying into Hamilton now. I think a friend of mine flew from Hamilton to Vancouver recently; I’ll see if I can’t get a hold of him for more info.
I usually fly out of Buffalo, myself. It’s about a 90 minute drive from Toronto, and the flights turn out so much cheaper! Jet Blue flies out of Buffalo, which is a great airline. Southwest too.
Go to Travelocity.com or something similar and type in your desired flight. It will return available results. Try several scenerios to get the best deal.
I really recommend JetBlue. They tend to be very reasonable in terms of price and they have great service. The satellite tv at each seat is also nice for a long trip across the country. I fly from Baltimore, MD to Oakland, CA frequently and most often fly JetBlue for those reasons.
Sniffs_Markers recently flew from Toronto to Vancouver and back again for under $400 Canadian. Dunno if it would be similar going Van-TO and back, but that’s a decent benchmark in any case.
as a general rule about airline fares–
If a plane has 150 passengers–you can be sure that no 2 of them paid the same price for their tickets.
Its all insane, and any price you get today may be double, or half of what the person in the seat next to you paid. I once sat next to my brother on a flight from NY to St. Louis.(emergency flight for a family funeral, not planned in advance) He paid $250, I paid $500–apparently because he bought his ticket 5 hours earlier than I did.
Now, when you guys gave the 400 dollar figure, is that one way or round trip? I’m guessing one way…
Also look at orbitz.com, expedia.com, and hotwire.com for comparisons.
It depends on what kind of a deal you can get, but $400 for a Vancouver-Toronto round trip is certainly possible. To add to the list of recommendations, try WestJet, they’ve just started flying to Toronto. They won’t feed you, but given what airplane food is generally like that’s not a big loss, and you’ll almost certainly have a better experience than with Air Canada or a charter.
Charter flights are going to be cheaper.
Eg. in Today’s globe and Mail:
Skyservice daily flights from Vancouver - Toronto: $155 each way.
This does not include, of course, taxes, AIF NAVCAN fees, which can add substantially. (prob. make the total $400 return) Of course, these are Canadian $$. So make that about $285 US. see www.flyconquest.com
Also… Check out Westjet’s website for fares. see www.westjet.ca They are generally lower than Air Canada (yuk)
