He is sueing the league to prevent the Tampa Bay Bucaneers from wearing t heir uniform in Oakland because the likeness of the Bucaneer is “too close” to the likeness of the Oakland Raider.
Speficially (from the article): " the Buccaneers’ logo ‘is likely to dilute the distinctive quality of the Raiders’ mark, thereby lessening its capacity to identify the Raiders and causing irreparable harm that cannot adequately be compensated by an award of damages.’ "
Riiiight… because a picture of a skull on a red flag is SO CLOSE to a shield with some wierd guy wearing a helmet and an eye patch.
This is just ridiculous. Sounds like sour grapes to me.
Davis also includes the Panthers because their away uniforms are apparantly too Silver and Black for his Sir Davis’ liking.
