Al Davis is smoking crack again

http://espn.go.com/nfl/news/2003/0417/1540472.html

He is sueing the league to prevent the Tampa Bay Bucaneers from wearing t heir uniform in Oakland because the likeness of the Bucaneer is “too close” to the likeness of the Oakland Raider.

Speficially (from the article): " the Buccaneers’ logo ‘is likely to dilute the distinctive quality of the Raiders’ mark, thereby lessening its capacity to identify the Raiders and causing irreparable harm that cannot adequately be compensated by an award of damages.’ "

Riiiight… because a picture of a skull on a red flag is SO CLOSE to a shield with some wierd guy wearing a helmet and an eye patch.

This is just ridiculous. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Davis also includes the Panthers because their away uniforms are apparantly too Silver and Black for his Sir Davis’ liking.

It’s not spring unless Al Davis is suing someone…

He’s also trying to get a judge to prevent the Carolina Panthers from wearing their uniforms in California, because they use the colors silver and black.

Have fun playing in (North?) Carolina and Florida, Al.

I think I’d like to see the Raiders play with a daisy on their uniforms!

Al Davis is really starting to look like the offspring of an unholy union of Grampa Simpson and Christopher Walken. I wonder if he sounds like a hybrid of the two when he talks?

I wish sometimes that Mike Shanahan would have just once punched him in the face.
