So, please explain more about the epistemology you are using. How does one differentiate between the various holy books that all claim to be divinely inspired?
Note that any self-referential or non-verifiable argument will be summarily dismissed. I doubt you will pay attention to this caveat, but it’s more entertaining that way.
These quotes illustrate the real failure of Islamic epistemology. In my experience, Muslims all seem to think that the only proof they need is huge chunks of semi-repetitious text asserting the “fact” that Islam is undeniably correct and the Qur’an is the perfect untouched word of god (despite itself being a huge chunk of semi-repetitious text). Sure, other religions do this too, but Muslims take it to a whole new level with the “by-heart” and “original language” claims. Somehow, the fact that people have memorized the whole Qur’an by heart (which, by the way, is so integral that it is actually used as a verb by English-speaking Muslims: “he by-hearted it”) proves that the text is great. I mean, obviously, it’s important to people, which is why they by-heart it, but it doesn’t strengthen the argument for divinity. Look, I’ve memorized The Cremation of Sam McGee, but that doesn’t mean that you can burn a frozen corpse back to life.
About the original form and language, it’s really not that impressive to have an original copy of a book created after writing was invented. You just write it down, and don’t lose it. Or make a bunch of good copies and hang on to some of them. So what? Further, the text of the Qur’an may not have changed, but actual spoken Arabic sure has. Couldn’t Allah see that coming? Why not just instruct Muhammad to write down versions of the Qur’an in languages that didn’t exist yet, but would eventually be spoken by large groups of people? That would be a good proof of divinity.
Muslims often claim that the Qur’an is clearly written by god because no human could have written something so perfect. Well, I just plain disagree. It’s not perfect. It’s just a bunch of lyrical poetry about how great Allah is and how fucked the unbelievers are going to be one day. Sure, it has a certain beauty when sung aloud, but so do other religious and non-religious texts. But it’s certainly not the epitome of all text ever written. For instance, read Sura 102 and try to tell me that it’s some amazingly divine perfection. It’s weak doggerel.
I do understand why Muslims cling to these extremely pathetic “proofs”: if you need to believe in it, it’s all you’ve got. And questioning it is severely punished, so you end up with people who have had this nonsense drilled into their heads since childhood, with no ability to think critically about it. They can just parrot the dense paragraphs of drivel and fun “facts” about Islam.
My Greek New Testament has not.
And none of the Christian Bible was ever written originally in Latin. The Old Testament is mostly in Hebrew; and the New Testament is in Greek.

Advent of Islam in this world:
Similarly when subsequently the first Parent Couple of Human Race; Prophet Adam and Eve PBUT were ordained to dwell on the earth they were also ordained to abide by the Divine Directions; Islam, which they would receive in this world as told by Allah Almighty.
‘We said, “Now go down, all of you from here. Henceforth there shall come to you Guidance from Me now and again: whoever will follow it shall have neither fear nor sorrow.” 2:38)
At that time obviously there was no other religion save Islam, anywhere in the universe. It is by far palpable that the question of any other religion save Islam at that point of time could have not been arisen at all. And ergo taking Islam in the broader sense the antiquity of Islam goes beyond the human race and thus as matter of fact Islam is second to none in antiquity as well as integrity so far as other man-made creeds are concerned. Other creeds find no rank at all so far as antiquity and integrity of Islam is concerned. Thus Islam being the original religion, the followers of the original Religion of Islam; Muslim Nation is the original nation in this world beyond any doubt. One must not forget that for a living nationality, civilization and culture, a religion works as nucleus. Other factors, geography, topography and language etc may be a requisite but as periphery.
Islam - the only updated Religion:
Now so far modernity of Islam is concerned, here too Islam stands outstandingly, for Islam is the only latest and up-to-date religion, which was commenced in this world by the First Prophet Adam PBUH – then updated from time to time by round about 1,23, 000 Prophets PBUT - and finally concluded, and updated and made functional by Allah Almighty under His supervision through His final and the Latest Prophet, Mohammad (PBUH) in all aspects of life - and subsequently by his true followers all over the world. This is why; I call Islam the first and the final religion in the entire cosmos. Allah Almighty says in Holy Qur’an:
“(O Muhammad!) Those (prophets) are the ones Allah guided to the right way. Follow, then, their way, and say: 'I ask of you no reward (for carrying on this mission); it is merely an admonition to all mankind.”(6:90)
“Those (prophets) are the ones to whom We gave the Book, and judgement and prophethood. And if they refuse to believe in it now, We will bestow this favour on a people who do believe in it.” 6:89)

Advent of Prophet Adam PBUH in the light of Holy Books:
The subject is very simple to be comprehended. All the three major religions viz Islam, Judaism and Christianity - and all the Divine Books; The Holy Torah, (the Old Testament) - the Holy Gospel (viz the New Testament) - Zaboor (the Psalms) - and the Holy Qur’an, are agreed upon at one amongst other facts is; that Prophet Adam and his wife Eve PBUT are the ascendant parents of the entire human race. Modern science has also proved this fact. In this regard I quote an excerpt from an article, Adam & Hawa (Peace be upon them) by Mekaeel Maknoon which has been uploaded on a website:
“The question to be put is not so much, “What are the names of the first man and woman”? but, “Do we really have a common ancestor?” and “How much do I know about humanity’s common ancestors, Adam and Hawa?”.
**“The religious and scientific answer to the first question is simply yes! On 11th January 1988, the Newsweek Magazine carried an article which stated that studies by molecular biologists of an international assortment of genes had put them on the trail of the mitochondrial Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA). **
The studies were carried out on both black and Caucasian women “with ancestors from Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia”. Despite the fact that the women “were from widely different racial and geographical backgrounds”, the geneticists “found that all had identical stretches of the mitochondrial DNA, which is inherited only from mothers and therefore not a mixture of parental genes”. This has led them from a Qur’anic and Biblical perspective back to the idea of a common ancestor: "to a single woman. The report went on to say, “most evidence so far indicates that Eve”…“was more likely a dark-haired, black skinned woman (who) lived in sub-Saharan Africa.” It is believed that our common ancestor - African Eve - must has lived “between 100,000 and 200,000 years ago”, and this is consistent with the findings related to Adam. This finding adds weight to the Biblical and Qur’anic statements about the existence of a Hawa (Eve), the mother of all humanity, who was not a product of an accident or chance in nature, but was created and fashioned by the Creator. Also, it is yet another piece of evidence for the authenticity of the Holy Qur’an, stating long before this discovery:
“The Revelation of this Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom… He created you (all) from a single Person:… created, (out of it) of like nature his mate… and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women” (S. 39:1,6: S: 4:1).
This passage was also telling the men of science that to progress their understanding about humanity’s common ancestor they must seek to establish Hawa’s origin and indeed humanity’s from a single individual, named Adam.
It is therefore not surprising to learn from an article in The Times on 23rd November 1995 that following a scientific study of the Y-chromosomes in a mixed- race group, Dr. Michael Hammer, a geneticist from the University of Arizona, was able to establish that all men do have a common ancestor “of African origin”, who lived less than 200,000 years ago. The article went on to say “this opposed a theory that mankind evolved in different regions of the Old World from an earlier ancestor, Homo Erectus (apes)”. What is now missing is for scientists to find the evidence which links Hawa to Adam; perhaps they will find the answer among the DNA of the bones, in particular, the lower ribs.
As regards the second question,
Science has very little to offer human beings who again, must resort to the Divine revelations to acquire deeper knowledge of their common ancestor. Even the fact that Hawa (Eve) was dark-skinned was already known to scholars of Islam. E.W. Lane, in his Arabic-English Lexicon, (Book 1, Part 2, p.661), says that the name Hawa (the Arabic equivalent of Eve) signifies “a brown colour, redness inclining to blackness or a colour intermixed with the blackish red dust like the rust of iron”.
In short, she was black or, if you prefer, a dark-skinned women.
The creation of Eve: a sign and a phenomenon:
The story of Adam is of universal significance not only because of what is related about him but also for what we can learn about his “mate”. The name in the Torah to Adam’s mate is Eve, there is no explanation how she acquired this name, whether from the Creator or Adam, it simply appeared at the beginning of Genesis, Chapter 4. According to Islamic Tradition, that same person is known by the Arabic name Hawa, and not Eve although again, this name does not appear anywhere in the Holy Qur’an. As regards the creation of Hawa, the information in the Torah can be summarized as follows: The LORD God said, “it is not good that man should be alone; I will make him an help meet” …the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam… and He took one of his ribs… and made He a women… and brought her unto the man… and… Adam said,… “she shall be called woman” (Gen. 2:18,21-3)
The Holy Qur’an confirms that Hawa was indeed created out of Adam but is silent on the specific process used in her creation. It states:
“O mankind! Reverence your Guardian-Lord Who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, his zaowja (wife/mate), and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women” (S. 4.1).
Stephen Jay Gould, the Harvard paleontologist and essayist, say, “… it makes us realize that all human beings, despite differences in external appearances, are really members of a single entity that’s had a very recent origin in one place. There is a kind of biological brotherhood that’s much more profound than we ever realized”.
This is the very point that Allah has related in the Holy Qur’an, which evidently Mr. Gould was not aware of, or perhaps, like many others, did not want to accept until it was endorsed by science. Do they not see though, how far modern science lags behind the teachings of the Holy Qur’an?
It is evident from the above stated Qur’anic verse and Torah that Hawa’s creation is a phenomenon - she is the only woman that was created from a man, but clearly not by the natural process that women would give birth. Her creation is significant, a sign and the second part of the three - part phenomenon of human creation. First was the creation of Adam, a human being who was made out of nothing, using only water and earth; second, the creation of a women (Hawa) as explained above, and third, the creation of a man - Jesus (pbuh) - out of a women without the participation of a man. All three creations are on the same footing in being unique, evident reasons for faith in Allah, and were all made possible by only the commanding word “Be” from the Almighty, attesting His power and knowledge of the secrets of the heaven and the earth, and of what is revealed and concealed (S. 3:59; 76:1-3).
In terms of religion and as a phenomenon of human creation, it is easy to understand the rank held by Hawa’s creation. An unmarried woman who conceives is open to all kinds of questions about the circumstances under which she became pregnant. In contrast, there is little that can be said where a women is formed out of the sole male human being in existence - that creation is undoubtedly a great feat at which humans should marvel.”
In contrast to the Torah, the Holy Qur’an does not say that Hawa was created from Adam’s rib, but says that she was made “of like nature” to him, and this fact is confirmed by reality and what is known about the human body. The biblical statement “God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam… and He took one of his ribs… and made He a women” (Gen. 2:18, 21-3), can be interpreted literally or as an allegory, the result however, in my view, is the same whichever interpretation is applied. This biblical notion, though no authenticated by the holy Qur’an, is supported by the following Hadith. In the absence of any Qur’anic foundation one might argue that their authenticity is thus subject to a measure of doubt. Nevertheless, these historical sources state: Abu Hurayrah (RA) relates that the Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: Treat women kindly. Woman has been created from a rib and the most crooked part of the rib is the uppermost. If you try to straighten it, you will break it and if you leave it, alone, it will remain crooked. So treat women kindly. (Bukhari and Muslim)
Another version is: A woman is like a rib; if you try and straighten it, you will break it and if you wish to draw benefit from it, you can do so despite its crookedness.
Another version is: Woman has been created from a rib and you cannot straighten her. If you wish to draw benefit from her, do so despite its crookedness. If you try to straighten her, you will break her and breaking her means divorcing her.

The Human History begins with Advent of First Human Couple:
There is an adage in Urdu which if I translate is; ‘Mullahs run ends at Masjid’. And for other clergy of creeds I would say; their run end at the ancient Greece. In fact the history of human race has commenced with the commencement of the ‘First Parents of Humankind’ in this world. Thereafter as the time succeeded, the divergence among the humankind also succeeded accordingly, in terms of faiths and hence in terms of cultures and civilizations and languages like many other things. Humankind has been disagreed in ways of thinking and doing but they could not deny or alter the nitty-gritty of humankind which implies the unity of origin of human race. The presence of counterfeit currency does not mean that the real currency was nullified or replaced. Similar is the case of Islam. Humankind brought about so many counterfeit versions of religion but this does not mean nullification of Islam. The Prophet Mohammad PBUH being the last Prophet, Allah Almighty determined to preserve Islam in the lasting form. And the outcome is before us that everything has been changed & changing but Islam, for Islam is the religion for the entire cosmos right from the day one till the day last. Hence many things have been corrupted but Islam, for Allah Almighty has been safeguarding it Himself. Thus some Muslims even might have corrupted but so far the Religion of Islam is concerned it has been intact. It is said that round about 73 outfits have either been or have to be come out in Muslims - this phenomenon has tainted some Muslims but never the Divine Religion; Islam.
So far splintering in other creeds is concerned albeit save Islam all other creeds are man-made still similar has been the case in them viz Judaism, Hinduism and Christianity, wherefrom also many cults of assortments have been branched out.
Those who are searching his or their identity simply in a certain civilization or culture must not forget that every civilization and culture sprouts wholly or partly from a religion. Civilizations and cultures are peripheries not the nuclei - civilizations and cultures are the symptoms not the essence - civilizations and cultures are the shadows not the substance and may be said; civilizations and cultures are the wears not the wearer.
Mankind was one Community & Prophet Adam was the Progenitor:
“Mankind were one ummah (viz community), then they differed. Had it not been for a word that went forth before from Thy Lord, their differences would have been settled between them.” ((Surah Yunus: 10-19)
Nay, Allah Almighty says in Holy Qur’an:
“mankind were one community, and Allah sent (unto them) prophets as bearers of good tidings and as warners, and revealed therewith the scriptures with the truth that it might judge between mankind concerning that wherein they differed concerning it, after clear proofs had come unto them, through hatred one of another. And Allah by his will guided those who believe unto the truth of that concerning which they differed; Allah guideth whom he will unto a straight path.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 2-213).
Allah Almighty emphasize to the entire humanity that:
**“Verily, this Ummah (viz brotherhood) of yours is a single Ummah, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: Therefore serve me (and no other) - But (later generations) cut off their affair (of unity), one from another: (yet) will They all return to us.” **(Surah Al Anbiyaa: 21-92, 93).
Allah Almighty lay emphasis on this fact further:
“And Verily this brotherhood of yours is a single brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: Therefore fear me (and no other) - But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: Each party rejoices in that which is with itself”. (Surah Al Mu’minuun: 23-52, 53).
Allah Almighty says in Holy Qur’an:
“O mankind! Lo! We have created you from male and female - and have made nations - and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! The noblest of you, in the sight of Allah, is the best in conduct. Lo! Allah is knower - aware.” (Surah al-Hujurat: 39-13).
Allah Almighty addresses all the humanity as ‘Children of Prophet Adam’ PBUH:
Allah Almighty therefore describes all the humanity as children of Prophet Adam PBUH:
“O ye Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover your shame, as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raiment of righteousness, - that is the best. Such are among the Signs of Allah, that they may receive admonition!” (Surah Al A’raf: 7-26)
Similarly: “O ye Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you, in the same manner as he got your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of their raiment, to expose their shame: for he and his tribe watch you from a position where ye cannot see them: We made the evil ones friends (only) to those without faith”. (Surah Al A’raf: 7-27)
“O Children of Adam! Wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: But waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not the wasters.” (Surah Al A’raf: 7-31)
“O ye Children of Adam! Whenever there come to you apostles from amongst you, rehearsing My signs unto you, - those who are righteous and mend (their lives), - on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.” (Surah Al A’raf: 7- 35)
"Did I not enjoin on you, O ye Children of Adam, that ye should not worship Satan; for that he was to you an enemy avowed? (Surah Ya-Sin: 36-60)
Thus creation of humankind from the same parents confirms the fundamental inter se equality of human being in terms of ancestry, legacy and proprietary rights in the natural assets in this planet and others on one hand and the merit oriented nobility of human being on the other. Had the German philosopher and founder of communism, Karl Marx (1818-1883) made this reality of morality as spiritual foundation of his theory, the scientific socialism famously known as communism, that won’t have been so baseless and won’t have collapsed so soon, for want of morality!!! For, nothing stay longer without any built-in moral cohesion force!!! Without having the soul of morality every corporeal being is dead and every dead thing is bound to vanish and never to flourish!!!
Here it is also worth mentioning and to be considered more profoundly; the Atheists, Darwinists and those who are called Evolutionists in particular, who believe that the present day human being was not something which was created as such and that the present day human being which was the most backward stuff of the planet was the outcome of passing through of centuries & millennia long complicated permanent changes/evolutions in inhabitants of the earth over the course of many generations.

The First Human being and Prophet Adam PBUH:
Allah’s Almighty first human being; Adam PBUH was Allah’s Almighty first Messenger. Obviously, Prophet Adam & his wife PBUT landed on this earth as the first ever Human Couple PBUT - definitely their religion was as told in the Holy Qur’an was Islam. Likewise the Prophet Adam & his wife’s PBUT language, culture, civilization and way of life were also one and the same, for all these offshoots do not sprout more or less but from the trunk of Faith. Subsequently they developed family which was apparently limited in the first instant and grown with growing of time accordingly. Since parents were Muslim hence their immediate family would also have been Muslims (or at least could have not been Jew or Christian or else), for obviously there was no other creed at that period of time. And with passage of time the ‘First Parent Family’ would have developed into tribe and the tribe into tribes and then the tribes into nation and then this way the nation into nations. And thus with passage of time and space (viz expanse) the differences among them would have sprouted and protruded intermittently - and thus they would have branched out fitfully as different outfits. And with passage of further time whenever the ‘Divine Books’ were got distorted by the then distorters that is to say the disbeliever clerics, Allah Almighty preferred to choose more Prophets PBUT for the respective populations. And who were in fact successors to the predecessor Prophets PBUT in the terms of faith and thus they PBUT were being sent subsequently in the respective populations - as and when Allah Almighty pleased to decide in the emerging circumstances. So as to be drawn the people inward to the ‘Real Divine Directions’ from the missed and mixed up ones - and refurbish it according to the available circumstances. And hence round about 124,000 Prophets PBUT are believed to have been assigned the task of preaching Islam by Allah Almighty. And given this fact all the Prophets PBUT had been preaching nothing but Islam - and this is why that the Muslims alone as a nation have been owning and believing all of them PBUT. And this is why that none as a nation amongst other nations has ever owned or believed them as Prophets PBUT - rather all of the Prophets PBUT had been defied, many had been martyred or tortured in their respective tenures by the respective nations, who had denied or converted from the original religion; Islam. And this is why that according to Muslims all the Prophets PBUT have been equally sacred - and exactly vice versa according to the disbeliever nations.
The common ancestry of the entire human race:
The belief of the fact that Prophet Adam and his wife Eve PBUT is the First Human Parents of the human race is of paramount importance and overriding consequences. Because the belief of the fact that the entire human race is the progeny of the same Parents; Prophet Adam and Eve PBUT, confirms the fundamental inter se equality of human race in terms of race, ancestry, legacy and above all the proprietary rights in the natural assets in this planet, world and others on one hand and the merit oriented nobility of human race on the other. Allah Almighty says:
“Human beings, We created you all from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Verily the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the best in conduct. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (Surah al-Hujurat: 49-13).

And if ‘they’ want to trace the base of human race in terms of religion the matter goes back to the Religion of ‘First Parents of Human Race; Prophet Adam PBUH and his wife Eve PBUT which is Islam!!!
The First Parents of Humankind:
The oneness in the basics of the entire creation also reflects Oneness in the Creator and oneness in them. As submitted above all the major religions are in unison to hold and believe that the entire humankind is descendant of the first parent couple; Prophet Adam and Eve PBUT. And all the cogent reasons, authentic history and unassailable natural evidence corroborate this universal fact.

Every time I see it I immediately try to parse it as “Peanut Butter…” and then try to figure out what the last two words are (“Peanut Butter Under Hummous”? “Peanut Butter Upon Ham”?).
What about the Bahá’í Faith? Muslims love to point out that Jews and Christians should be Muslims but are one or two prophets behind. But how do you know you’re not missing some newer prophets, like Bahá’u’lláh or Joseph Smith?
