But why does it matter to you what the poster called itself. I agree, you can mock its pathetic attempt to present a stunningly ignorant Muslim (as did others) but why should the name offend you? Would the choice of a name not be between the poster and its god?
That’s not really on target though cowgirl as Buddha wasn’t a god. Buddha’s role is more of a great example than a respected authority/father figure. Also Buddha is really more of a title akin to “Awakened one”. It’s kind of like a restaurant that served Christian cuisine calling itself “Anointed one” or something.
Aw, I’d be offended if someone had the username “Xena Sucks Ass” or “Guilford Trains Terrorists”. Probably not enough to pit, but perhaps enough to make a snarky comment, as Aldebaran did.
I don’t see it an intellectual or religious matter, just a visceral reaction. Upon seeing such a username, I might scream, “Agh, my eyes, my eyes!!”
Hang on, someone calling himself Allah Akbar isn’t calling himself God, he’s saying “God is great”. It’s like having “Jesus Saves” for a username, not “jesus Christ”. I’d assume it was a proselytiser.
Misspelling it seems dubious, and he acted like a troll in the couple of threads I saw. It looks to me like the mods know what they are talking about but I can’t claim any expertise.
And I think that pretty much sums up the opinion of the sole person who’s taken offense at the expression so far.
This has actually come up, but not as a poster but as someone who’s written a question which I answered in a staff report about the LDS temples.
Well, in the comments thread for the report mentioned, I asked if anyone else got a kick out of the questioner using the moniker “B. Young” or if anyone else had noticed that (I tried searching for the actual statement I made, but, alas, the hamsters are not on my side today). As it is, I answered the question. At any rate, we don’t worship Brigham Young, so that’s really not the same thing. Now, if the proposed poster used “BrighahYoungIsGod!” I’d probably just think he’s a bit off.
Getting back to the poster name in question in my OP: what is so different in that and the use of “There is no god but Allah” on a national flag?
Thus speaking for every Muslim on the planet. I, for one, do not believe you have that authority.
Saw it. It’s right down there in the cesspool of “brilliant” statements of yours with “my post is my cite.”
Translation: Waahhh! They doubted me! Waahhh!
You are the only person I have ever seen use the word “Peace” as an insult. C’mon…tell us, O Speaker For All Muslims Past Present & Future…exactly how Islamic is that stunt?
If I have it right, the English name Jesus is Jesu in Spanish. Mind you, this is a recollection from over 35 years ago, when a 10 year old boy went from Catholic school in Norfolk, Virginia to a public school in California where every other kid was named Jesus.
I generally go through new registrations, and weed out the really offensive names. For instance, I wouldn’t allow one guy to post with the username of goatse.cx, for some reason.
