I suppose it’s just the motorcycle equivalent of a dashcam. Once you become famous, people target you, so it’s pretty smart of him.
With how distracted the average driver is these days, a lot of bikers wear gopros or some other camera when they ride. However, I always cringe when I see them attached to their helmets. You don’t want to land on the camera and have it punch a hole through the helmet. There is speculation that Michael Schumacher’s head injury was partly due to having a camera attached to his ski helmet.
I find it hard to believe Ritchson was acting like a jerk. I’ve seen his work and he clearly can’t act.
This is definitely the thread winner!
Maybe someone from the network told Ritchson that he’s not “badass” enough, so he strapped on the bodycam and auditioned.
Really makes me think twice about picking a fight with a pissed-off Kaiju.
Huh
Apparently a shove gives Ritchson a free pass to pummel the guy lying on the ground, 4 times.
But, the police have all the witness statements. It’s their call.
Yes, it does indeed. Seems like you’re still thinking Ritchson was in the wrong, here? He was assaulted, and responded with appropriate force to end the assault. Good on him for showing restraint to stop at four punches.
It would be excessive if Ritchson stomped the guy in the head with his motorcycle boots, but punching someone 4 times who is big enough to shove 240 lbs of muscle off a bike isn’t outrageous. This neighbor started the fight, Ritchson ended it.
Let’s hope it’s ended.
Hopefully Ritchson will use another street to entertain his children on motorcycles.
I understand he can’t take his kids out on busy streets with heavy traffic. But, the quiet neighborhood streets should be used sparingly for noisy entertainment.
Maybe for an hour in the middle of the day. Show consideration for the other people that live there.
I don’t know how much land came with his house. He could design a motocross trail in the backyard. With berms and ditches to jump. His kids would have a lot of fun.
There may be commercial motocross parks already designed for certain age riders.
A shove can kill someone, especially off of something. So, yeah.
And the guy wasn’t lying on the ground, I don’t know what video you were watching.
I hope not. That’d be letting the bully win.
The man was laying on the ground covering his head for most of them. Ritchson is clearly bigger and stronger and beat up a smaller man on the ground in front of his kids. He was angry and taught his kids how not to be an adult that day.
But to you he deserves praise?
Can they just both be wrong?
Ritchson shouldn’t be an asshole running bikes up and down the street. The neighbor shouldn’t have hit him, and really shouldn’t pick a fight with a guy that, well, looks like Jack Reacher. Even if you know he’s just an actor. Ritchson should have stopped when the guy stopped fighting back and was on his knees.
Arrest the whole lot of them! Kids, too!
Exactly. I don’t think anybody is covered in glory here, though like most in this thread, I’ll give a pass to someone who punches someone who shoved them off a bike.
But all I can think about is: you and your kids rode those noisy bikes up and down the block in freaking Brentwood (very, very posh) to the point that your neighbor was enraged? I bet all the neighbors were entertaining fantasies of pushing them off their bikes.
I sometimes feel sorry for myself for not being able to afford to live in a nice neighborhood as opposed to where I do, every time the local lowlifes decide to roar around and around my block. I’d have thought moving to Brentwood would solve that problem, but apparently not if Reacher-man is your neighbor. He’s excused for punching, IMO, but not for making that much noise in that neighborhood, essentially ruining it for every person in a 1/2 mile radius.
I’ve never watched the show on which he stars but I wonder if the notoriety will prompt the studio to recast the role or end the show? On ABC, the Bachelorette was cancelled prior to airing the first episode due to an old video of the lead performer that recently came to attention.
Yeah, that’s what “losing a fight” looks like. Folks who don’t want to find themselves in that position shouldn’t go around starting fights with people.
Yeah, after he was assaulted twice. Does being “bigger” mean he’s not allowed to defend himself? Does he not have a reasonable concern that the lunatic who jumped him in the middle of the street might also pose a danger to his kids?
Absolutely. Do you think he does not? What do you think the proper response to being assaulted in broad daylight should be? Just lie there and take it?
Doubtful. He’s not being charged with a crime of any sort. This will fade away.
Unless they go the Tom Cruise route and ignore what Reacher looks like, they would have a hard time finding someone else for the role.
“Jack Reacher is minding his own business when someone starts some shit, and he puts them down violently,” is the basic premise of the show. I doubt much of the fan base for it is going to be upset by how Ritchson acted in this encounter. If anything, this is going to boost the show.
This is my opinion, too.
