The 1960 Playhouse 90 production of Alas, Babylon will be shown on March 28 at UCLA as part of their “Festival of Preservation”. I thought there might be Dopers in the area who’d be interested. If I lived in LA, I’d be going.

If I still lived in L.A., I’d go! I had no idea they’d made a movie. I’ve liked the book since I read it in high school.
Cool. I read the book in High School. I thought they should make a movie of it. I imagined myself in such a situation, even though I lived very close to several megaton targets.
Also a huge fan of this book since I was a teen.
I had no idea this fabulous book had been made into a movie, though I should have. This is one of the first “grown-up” books that I shared with my daughter. She loved it and has re-read it a couple times.
We would go to see the movie if we were in LA. sigh
If anyone’s going, could you ask whoever’s in charge if this will make it to DVD or to TCM or another movie channel? Please?!!?
