Albinoni's Adagio - not by Albinoni?

Anyone heard this before?

A friend of mine told me that there was some doubt that Albinoni ever wrote this piece, probably his most famous work. A said that the manuscript was “discovered” among some forgotten papers of his years after his death.

Has anyone heard this before? Is it a load of baldricks, or wha?

Albinoni is almost entirely known for a piece of music he didn’t actually write. The famous Adagio in G Minor was not merely reconstructed by the Italian musicologist Remo Giazotto, as is usually acknowledged after Albinoni’s name — it was pretty well written by him in its entirety.
