Albums with no bad songs

I can’t believe nobody has mentioned Boston, by (of course) Boston. Not a single clunker on that album - every last song is a finely crafted gem. And I am NOT normally into that kind of dick-swinging guitar rock - I’m a jazz nerd - so it means something coming from me.

Boston is all the more remarkable because it’s the band’s debut album, and even more so because it was SO completely different from all the other music on the radio at the time.

Jamiroquai’s Travelling Without Moving
Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue and * Relaxin’ with the Miles Davis Quartet *

Also coutless classical music CDs I own have no bad songs on them.

Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen

Graceland and Paul Simon - Paul Simon

Night and Day and Blaze of Glory - Joe Jackson

The Name of This Band is Talking Heads (Live) - Talking Heads

System of a Down - Toxicity

That’s the one I was thinking of when I opened the thread.

Aimless Device - Hard To be Nice

Sisters of Mercy - Floodland, yep, definitely

Hey, you stole my CD collection!

REM - Automatic for the People

I love this album.

Dark Side of the Moon Pink Floyd

Transient Random-Noise Bursts With Announcements and First of the Microbe Hunters Stereolab

The Head on the Door and Disintigration The Cure

Quality Control Jurassic Five

Fear of Pop Ben Folds

My B.O.F. and I were just discussing this last week. We call them “Perfect Albums”.That are good from begining to end and don’t make you want to reach for the skip, or FF button

Hello…I Must be Going Phil Collins. No Jacket is also mentioned above.

TUSK Fleetwood Mac. Much more musicaly rounded than Rumors.

Youself or Someone Like You Matchbox20. Radio overplay has driven a few tracks to the back of my mind.

Harder, Faster April Wine. It’s been too long since i’ve been to my brothers to hear this one.

90215 Yes. Oh, it was comercial but it is Great!

The Wild Heart Stevie Nicks. Worth a listen for the last tune!

Throwing Copper LIVE. Hell, anything by Live is worth the time.

The Beatles aka The White Album The Beatles. They’ve cranked out lots of good stuff, but this is the only one that qualifies

Deguello (sp?) ZZ Top.I had a friend named Essie, named for her Mother, so when she got mad at us we’d sing this to her.

Live in Australia Elton John. The yelling can get a bit distracting, but the studio tracks cannot compare to the sound of a full orchestra recoded in an Opera Hall.

my last and Hokeyist(?) is also my favorite movie!Rythym of the Pridelands A Disney follow-up to The Lion King. Most of these tunes can be heard on the Broadway Score, but this contains Different lyrics for “Hakunna Mattata” and a John/Rice song not used in the movie “Warthog Rhapsody” sang by Earnie Sambella and Nathan Lane (Pumba and Timone)

Mark Knopfler Sailing to Philadelphia Just beautiful. One of the best albums to be released in recent years.

Manu Chao - Clandestino
Manu Chao - Proxima estacion… Esperanza
Leningrad Cowboys - Go Space!

Hmmmm… Good question. I’m surprised that nobody has mentioned A Farewell To Kings from Rush

Mark Knopfler - Sailing to Philadelphia

Sorry Journeyman - Consider my post a “second”

Memory does serve. A superb choice.

I would another album from around the same time:

In the Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson. IMO, the greatest “progressive rock” album ever. Period. (And I know my Floyd).

I would agree with most of these choices, but I have to add my own.

Ready?

Strange Days
Waiting For The Sun
The Soft Parade
Morrison Hotel
L.A. Woman
The Doors
An American Prayer

I know you were all waiting for that, so I thought I’d deliver.

-Dave

Megadeth - Countdown to Extinction
Suicidal Tendencies - How Will I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can’t Even Smile Today?
AC/DC - High Voltage

I’m sure I have about 2 dozen others that I can’t think of at the moment.
