How sober would you say you are right now?
On a scale of 1-10 id say 3 sober, its sort of the day after
The changes are pretty minor. They’ve already mentioned the twice-a-week bit (which is why I calculated daily x two) and the amount they are drinking in the update is not that far off than what was mentioned in the OP. The basics of the story are still the same: OP is drinking hella lot.
The drunkness hangs around for a day or so, then comes the wild diareha, then a day of depression, and then im fine
Have you ever used cannabis? I used to binge drink on weekends, but by replacing much of the beer/vodka with cannabis and switching from weekend binges to daily consumption, I find I drink less overall.
Yeah, I’ve known those feelings and those symptoms. I’m surprised you don’t get the shakes, but maybe since you space it out, that doesn’t happen. Since you don’t want opinions about that, I can say that, for me, alcohol was very much counterproductive to getting fit and staying strong and in shape. Any time I worked out for long periods of time (some stretching years), my alcohol consumption had to be cut significantly, to no more than a drink or possibly two at most a day. (Defined as one glass of one or one beer.) Any more and my workouts were ruined and I felt like shit.
Good question, im 52 years old, and there was cannabis on every nachspiel when i grew up, so i guess ive tried it about 50 times or so, but not the last 25 years. I drink alone and am satisfied with that. But cannabis never worked on me. I didnt feel much so i guess im just that guy
You are not fine, and you are not “training” under any reasonable definition of the term. You are drinking a very dangerous amount of alcohol and you are a heavy smoker. Skip the gym and go to a medical professional ASAP.
Thanks for the advise, but i got phobia of people, which in that time lead to my drinking, and later heavy drinking. Im not relly able to ask for help, and im sure i doøesnt want to, i just hope i die in my sleep, and not in agony
I’m 63 and have smoked weed iff and on for the past 45 years. If you haven’t smoked good weed recently you do not know what you’re missing.
Im not quite sure what cannabis is, we used to smoke some cubes, cholcolate like, that were called hash. Might be a difference
We mixed it with normal tobacco and warmed it to melt it into the tobacco, then rolled and smoked
Another indication that you need to see a professional. If this thread was actually about weight training I don’t think you would tell us all this other stuff, so what is it you really want from us?
Really it is not about weight training, it is about drinking too much, and how the weight lifting might correlate to that
I must say that for a 52 year old, my weight lifting is going pretty good, not as good as when i was 20 but still i get progress every week
Might it be that, considering how drunk you are most of the time, you might be slightly delusional as to how well you are actually doing?
To set things in perspective, i have been in jail for drunk driving, i had 3.2 promille alcohol/blood. And i did drive unconsioly for 220 km/hr and crashed. Lost my drivers licence and good is that
I dont think so, im not usually drunk, im just unususally drunk when i drink. ANd about the training, ive been an active work out guy for all my life, and i know what progress is, my teens was track’n’field and it was very goal oriented. So while your comment might have merit, i think i know so much about training that i know what progress entail
How much do you smoke?

Don’t think whether you lift or not is all that important.
No judgement. Just observing that you are hastening your debility and death.
Maybe a multivitamin would be the answer?!
I am in constant scared of my liver and kidneys suddenly shuts down, but not so much my heart since that seems to be ok (maybe bc of training) Diabetes 2 ofc, but thats been ok since i started training again. Some how, alcohol ( my kind of) doesnt interfer with diabetes somehow
