Ok, so my question is, how does this relate in any way to the OP? What the hell is he going on about? How does this relate to anything thats been said or asked of him IN the thread? Is this a steam of consiousness, is it dementia of some kind, or is this the result of heavy drug use? My own pet theory is that he doesn’t actually READ whats said in any thread he participates. He has a mental tape recorder and when it fills up to over flowing, he simply spews it out into a thread verbatim. As you have a special insight into the guy (girl?), please read (S L O W L Y) through the thread and give us your best shot on what the hell he’s talking about here.

If anyone in the US was being fired for speech on the job other than, “Hey, nice tits,” or, “Fuck you, boss!” there might be a problem. Nobody gets fired for expressing their political views on the job unless they are supposed to be taking phone calls, or something. Not that reality will ever dent Aldebaran’s preconceived-notions-accelerated-energy defensive shield.
Tim Robbins and several other well-heeled Hollywood celebs could easily produce enough venture capital to start their own TV stations, network, or radio syndicate. Why not put your money where your mouth is?
If it flops, is that an infringement on their right to free speech? Not in my world.

Here the dear boy is saying, “It is perfectly OK for me to call other people childish, accuse them of Klan membership, and tell them that they enjoy insulting cripples, but not for anyone else”.
As a general rule, Aldebaran accuses people of “twisting” or “distorting” what he says when you try to follow his ideas to the next logical step, or point out that he is contradicting himself.
I think he is either self-centered, or dumb, enough to think that this is really the case.
Here he is claiming that just because everything he posts is an attack on the US is no reason to think that he hates the US.

He got caught, since his cite didn’t establish what he claimed, and now he is claiming that he has lots more cites, but doesn’t care to post them.
He used to try to say that his own opinion ought to be good enough for the likes of us, but now thinks that anything at all that he links to needs to be taken as definitive. This was pretty obviously a simple repetition of some garbage that Robbins made up, and now Aldebaran is trying to cover up without any more research.
He is saying that Belgium has more freedom of speech, because they didn’t invade Iraq. Therefore, since Belgium didn’t invade Iraq, comparisons of freedom in Belgium and the US don’t count.
Yes, I know it doesn’t make any sense.
Here he is saying that we all hate him because he hates the US for invading Iraq.
Here he is saying that he would really support someone who encountered difficulties for being pro-war, just as he supports those who are anti-war.
Whether you believe it or not, that is what he is claiming.
Here he is trying two things.
The first is, as I mentioned earlier, his use of the word “childish” to describe the process of actually understanding what he is saying, but wants to deny. The other is his assertion that no one can support a political agenda except a professional politician.
I suspect that he either does not understand, or does not wish to understand, what he himself is posting, as the idea of only politicians having political agendas is pretty self-evidently goofy.
Here he is simply saying that “freedom of speech” means to agree with him. If anyone disagrees with him, or with those who hold his views, then the US has no “freedom of speech”. All the distinctions between repression by governments and disagreement among citizens seems to have sailed pretty far over his rather thick head.
Here he is trying hard to back away from previous discussions on why Belgium has “freedom of speech” but the US does not. He noticed that the comparison of the two countries did not bode well for the strength of his argument, so he is trying to explain that only his view of things can possibly be valid. Anything else, or drawing logical inferences (he hates that) means that you are distorting him.
He is playing the victim card here. Again, he notices that the comparison does him no good, so he uses “immature” instead of “childish”, but with the same intent.
Strawman argument here. He is equating Holocaust denial with any effort to disagree with his and Robbins’ position vis-a-vis the US government.
The short version of this is, “I believe what I think without any evidence or logic. Therefore, it ought to be good enough for you too, so I will neither present nor consider evidence”.
Repetition of the earlier strawman, coupled with a quick ad hominem attack.

Actually, in Alde’s defense, someone specifically mentioned the holocaust in link. I guess it is a crime to deny the scope or methods of the holocaust in Belgium. I have no dog in that fight.

Calling people childish or immature 4 times in a single post. I think you might have set yourself a new record, though frankly I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if it isn’t.
Seriously, Aldebaran, does it ever occur to you that there might be a reason that even people who hold somewhat similar political views get annoyed by the way you present yourself? You’d be doing yourself a great favor just by dropping the words childish, immature and for that matter US’er from your vocabulary, at least while posting in GD.

The only reason I call people immature and childish, is because they present themselves as such. For instance in this ridiculous childish immature schoolkid style topic on this immature ridiculous obviously for bored schoolkids designed board.
An other reason why people have some difficulties in reading my post is because they aren’t used to my writing style.
And when I write US’ers, I do that because that is part of my writing style which is largely influenced by 3 things:.
- I never studied the English language because one can’t study all languages and I didn’t take the time upto know to get a teacher and devote myself to this one. Reason: I don’t have any urgent need to learn it.
- Therefore my grammar knowledge is non existent and my vocabulary extremely limited which influences my ability to express myself clearly in this language.
- I’m born with the precious birthgift dyslexia, which has as really funny result that twinbrother dyslex takes over without me noticing, or even when I do notice, without me being able to knock him unconscious. Which results in my posts fluctuating between readable and completely incoherent with all variations in between. (That is also why I prefer to write US’ers insted of A m e r i c a n s. Count the letters and calculate how many can be displaced in unpredictable variations)
Ah, almost forgot: Add to it that most of the time I use a keyboard that has nothing refering to any roman script on it.
