Aldebaran, today is your birthday!

If you would do a couple of things:

Stop playing the “ancient Islamic elder” routine. It might be a highly respected body of knowledge where you come from but it doesn’t make it in the real world. There are a lot of people on the board that don’e agree with you but are still very intelligent and mature.

Come out in the open on the US. Repeat after me: “I hate the US and everything it stands for.” Just be up-front about it.

People probably won’t agree with you but they might stop mocking you so openly.

Testy

Shodan–you’re repressing.

Open up! SHARE! Tell us how you really feel!

Aldebaran --have a bite of this great big pork sauasage here between my legs, shitewad.

BOSDA: You spelled diareh. dairei…the shits wrong, apart from that well said

Aldebaran dyslexia isn’t an excuse for idiocy and arrogance.

When I imagine him posting, I think of an old angry man shaking his cane at everyone below the age of 80, calling everyone immature, childish and whatnot. He really has no idea what these words mean, but he knows it incites annoyance and frustration.
“Damn kids and their hip new eeee-mail”
I wonder how he found a computer, oh, nevermind. He obviously built it out of a recycled camel, twenty lightbulbs, extra sandpaper, and with his genius mind

Bingo. Note theme of thread. I’ve tried every means of verbal typed communication I can come up with. Subspace frequencys are jammed. Lekatt – always good for an honorary pitting while we’re at it – isn’t going to help us communicate with him.

Dammit, what am I supposed to do? I’m an internet poster not a magician.

By the way, Shodan --how do you like my new sig?

It’s childish - I like it.

Regards,
Shodan

You immature Nazis.

Salaam

I know you are, but what am I?

Regards,
Shodan

Mmm, salami.

No longer will I refer to him as Aldebaran. From today forward, he will be known as Captain Maturity, Protector from Childishness, Defender of Wisdom.

BTW Aldebaran, you might not realize it, but one of the posters in this thread who is mocking you is 14 years old. Doesn’t bear well for your maturity level, does it?

LA

Sorry to wake you up with a cold shower: you last post only proves that I’m completely right: This website is populated by teenagers strugling with their puberty. It says everything for your maturity - and that of others - that you join them in their childplays.

Have fun. Sorry that I laugh.

Salaam. A

It must be godlike to be the only mature person on a board of umpteen thousand persons. How grown up of you…how educated…how arrogant and condescending of you.

I fart in your general direction. I piss on you from a great height. I curse your moustache.

You prepubescent primates.

Salaam. B

If that’s all this message board is, they why waste your time here?

Aldebaran:

I have the greatest respect for knowledge, whether it be knowledge of matters Islamic or of matters Judaic or whatever. The same is true of many (although admittedly not all) other posters here.

You don’t help yourself any, however, when you pile all Americans into one ignorant category, whether it’s in your head or on this board. It robs you of credibility on those matters about which you actually know more than most of us when you appear to be unable to differentiate between individuals, no matter which larger categories they belong to.

That is all. (For now, anyway.)

Henry,

You should know better. Read this thread, and then tell me that nobody here has a right to be miffed at Aldebaran:

Yes, some people have sunk to a ridiculously low level, but there is reason to call him on the carpet.

Thank you very much sir, for my only (good) laugh today. I needed that!

Guilty as charged. But in defense of my fellow juvenile delinquents, I think last night we achieved denouement on the Aldebaran issue. I think the item that finally tore it was Aldebaran’s ever-so-convenient “catch-all” post about Arabic keyboard and second language and whatnot. All tied up with a pretty dyslexia bow.

I actually can speak to this last issue, because as the survivor of a serious head injury, I have a condition similar to dyslexia – among other things – that makes it difficult to express myself verbally, let alone via a keyboard. You will never see me using this to get out of hot water. Even to a Thoughtless American, claiming “disability makes my posts sound bad” is a scoundrel’s desperate act that should be recognized and leave him roundly dismissed.

There are rules to this Board, some articulated, and like with any relationship, many more are tacit. I have been accused of being anti-American, anti-establishment, anti-cop and anti-war; many of my views have made my fellow Dopers extremely angry when pursued, especially when I can only claim anecdotal evidence. (Even with backup links or other information, such views can often incite a verbal riot).

Similarly, Aldebaran has found a wondrous hot button. As he Salaams to each of us, he’s whispering under his breath of "Sweet Lady Racism.” He challenges our perceived American ignorance of Muslim heritage and rails at the complicity of our European and Canadian friends. This yields almost global apologia, especially from Americans since many of us are still so very hurt over the views we’re told are taken by the rest of the world. Google “why they hate us” and you’ll find what’s at the core of many of the spiteful posts ignited by Aldebaran’s rhetoric.

We chase him all around the Board, this one-fourth of “The Royal Stars of Persia,” and attempt to defend ourselves, which leads me to this: why is it racism only on his terms? Why is it not similarly bigoted to lump all Americans into the anti-Muslim camp?

He’s just pushing buttons. Learn from what’s good about his posts, but please don’t be defeatist because of his snideness.

Aldebaran, your knowledge is an asset to this Board; I hope you can learn to embrace our differences and make a positive change before it’s too late.

But, wait, wasn’t “sinking to a ridiculously low level” the very point of the thread? If I wanted to debate him I’d go over to his Great Debates thread. I did post in it in fact, with a post carefully not directed at him. The argument contained nuance, legalities, and no clear black or white answer to the ultimate question. What would have been the point?
