Because “hate speech” is an Orwellian term that gets bandied about without much thought. Many governments have outlawed “hate speech”, so I find it necessary to police the term.
That is not my position. My position is that I would not advise someone sticking their necks out. I make no judgement on what people should or shouldn’t do. I don’t really care either way. The fact is, there are hateful people out there. No government will ever stop this. So if your goal is to not get harassed, I would advise against putting yourself out there.
This is really hard to understand for a schoolmarm. They constantly want to tell people what they should and shouldn’t do. I tell people what I would or wouldn’t do, and leave it at that.
“Non-permissive” is perhaps one of the foggiest terms I’ve heard in politics, maybe it’s a Canadian thing? I would not support a law permitting damage to property, but I would support any law that permits any activity that does not involve the initiation of physical violence against person or property.
I have no interest in MAGAing. I would prefer the dissolution of the US and a return to the city-state with rural areas existing in a state of capitalist anarchy.

I’m not. I’m against the use of the term “hate speech” to criticize someone, especially if it is being used loosely. manson educated me on Jones’ use of real deal hate speech. I still don’t like the term and would be against authoritarian governments passing hate speech laws.

Unfortunately in the case of Sandy Hook it was not a case of putting yourself out there, unless you consider having your kids killed putting yourself out there. Just about everyone who had a child or relative killed at Sandy Hook has received harassment not just the “high profile” ones.

Ok. Not sure how that is a response to my advice to stay out of politics. I never said if you aren’t in politics, you won’t get harassed. I said i would advise not getting involved in politics because it could lead to harassment.
