Anyone else jazzed?
I saw a blurb on TV last night that Jennifer Garner is wickedly ill with a viral infection so she’s been unable to promote Elektra and it’s interfered with shooting Alias as well.

Yes, I’m looking forward to Bad Robot Wednesday. ABC certainly has been promoting it heavily.

I’m a recent Alias convert, and am terribly excited about the new season.
(I’d never seen the show until I borrowed the first three seasons from a friend last month. Ten minutes into episode one I was hooked, and I watched all sixty-six episodes in eleven days. Now I’ll have to suffer through commercials, re-runs, and summer/fall hiatus just like everyone else. )
Just finished rewatching season 3 on DVD and I’m so very excited.
Can’t wait to see how this season works out. Thank goodness for something to fill the Buffy void.
And from the rumors I’ve heard, that “infection” has Affleck’s DNA and should clear up in about 9 months.
I’m interested to see what J.J.'s cooked up since last May (has it been that long?!) I think the move to Wednesday could help, especially with The West Wing sucking so far this year.
Reading the episode description is making me excited. The only problem I have is that the second half of UK-S. Carolina overlaps with the first hour. Guess the 'Cats will have to wrap this one up in the first half for me.
I love this show!
However, I hope they don’t send in the clones like they did last season, and maybe be a little more straightforward with the Rimbaldi story that seems to be important, and then less important, depending on the show/season.
Still, it is by far the best “action” show on tv and sometimes I look at the clock and am amazed only 15 minutes has aired…I am worn out watching it and there is another 45 minutes to go!
Plus ya gotta love a show whose main character has wigs with more colors than the Gay Pride flag!
Me too! Me too! I did nothing last week but watch Seasons 2 and 3.
I’m eagerly anticipating tonight’s premire even though (or perhaps because) season 3 was a huge dissapointment to me.
BTW, The Hollywood Reporter raved about tonight’s season opener.
Here is the link, (and no real “spoiler” except they tell a bit about tonight’s story line, so open at your own risk):

I’ve recently fallen in love with Garner so I’m gonna watch for the first time tonight. What should I know to get the gist? BTW, I did check it out once but I thought she looked ridiculous in this wig she had on.
Now that we’re a half hour into the show I would just like to reaffirm something I said a few months ago: Jennifer Garner is the sexiest woman on the planet.
23 minutes until the season premiere of my favorite show!
I’m in love with Jennifer Garner, and I’m a straight woman! It broke my heart when her and her costar, Vaughn on the show, broke up. They have great chemistry onscreen and I hope they don’t lose that, or kill him off.
I can’t wait!
Bleh!
Irina Derevko dead? Bullshit. You can’t get Lena Olin back? Too bad, but having her die in-between seasons? WTF? Clumsy and stupid.
Granted, this is Alias, where death isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
I’m semi-optimistic about the upcoming season. It looks like they might have figured out that Alias isn’t the Sydney Bristow: Super Spy show. There’s more to it than sexy outfits and explosions. Without the tension you had in the first two seasons with Syd hiding her identity from non-spies and spies alike, Alias is just some generic spy-thriller.
It looks like we might be getting back to that with the ultra-secret black ops team, but I don’t know if he’ll be able to fill the Will/Francie roll well enough.
And after last season, I’m sick of Sydney-as-victim. This ep didn’t do a whole lot to reassure me that that won’t be the case this upcoming season.
So, not overly impressed, but I’ll keep watching. Just knowing Melissa George is gone is extremely reassuring. I just hope that Nadia doesn’t end up sucking as much screen time away from Syd as Lauren did.
Not a bad start for this season, I’d say.
Writing Irina out like that was not the ideal situation, but J.J. was really limited in what he could do, since he said on many occasions he wasn’t going to recast the role.
I am a little disappointed that they changed what was in the safe deposit box. It wasn’t originally an execution order for Irina. It was, based on what we could see of it, something related to Sydney and Project Christmas.
I don’t like that Weiss is out of the loop and probably not gonna stick around (Grunberg is starring in J.J.'s OTHER other show on ABC, the one about a bounty hunter or something.)
Are we gonna have a new Big Bad this season? I thought the Japanese guy was gonna be working for someone, but I guess not now that he’s dead.
Yeeeeeeaaaah, boyeeee! I got my Sydney fix. It was satisfying. I especially loved the sword/hook fight scene.
How many times is she gonna shit on her dad then find out he had saved her life?
By best friend says she has to use collagen on her lips. I don’t want to believe this, I won’t believe it.
Sure, Garner’s a cutie, but there was one scene last sesason with a gratuitous shot of Melissa George in her underwear and she is fine. Maybe Lauren had a non-evil twin or something?

OK, it was great but I’m a little confused–are Sydney and Vaughn a permanent couple, an on-again off-again thing, friends with privileges, or what? I got the impression they’d had a relationship that ended badly but then three minutes after he shows up at the door…
It’s apparently nerve damage from a stunt:

Not putting this in spoiler tags - go watch the show already!
Thought the premier was good, although it bugs me a little how neatly everybody’s been put back in the original configuration - Sloan in the lead, Sydney and Michael back together, Sydney pissed at her dad, even Marshall’s back (what happened to his baby-mother?)
We do need a new bad guy, though. We’ll see what they come up with.
Yeah, they used to be together, but then it ended for some reason (anyone remember why?) Vaughn somehow ended up married to Lauren for awhile - while super-hot, she turned out to be a double-agent. That’s how it goes, I guess.
I’m not counting on Sydney and Vaughn having a conflict-free relationship, though.
Sydney discovered that the person she thought was her best friend/roommate, Francie, was really an assassin/spy/etc. whose DNA had been altered to look exactly like Francie and was spying on her. The two of them had a huge fight that ended (supposedly) with Sydney shooting Francie and then passing out.
When Sydney came to, she was in Hong Kong, and it was two years later. She’d been missing for the entire time. Somewhere in there, Vaughn got married to someone else.
