All In with Chris Hayes - a Sunday morning political talk show on weeknights

I think Hayes actually does a better job of this than most panel shows, honestly. Just a couple of days ago, when he was covering the fast food strikes in NYC, he brought in a representative of the restaurant association in addition to the striking workers. Also, Hayes seems more than willing to play devil’s advocate to push back against a panel that is too one-sided.

The Sunday shows like MTP superficially do a good job of “balance” by getting politicians of both parties, etc., but at the cost of any kind of real discussion, as the guests just spout talking points past one another.

I agree in part about the Sunday shows. I skip the first couple segments where surrogates spout talking points; but usually the actual panel at the end is more worthwhile.

I agree. He seems to seek panels that have genuine dissidents on them, whether it be on fiscal policy, gun policy, or whatever.

I can’t watch shows that feature pols at this point–99% of them, Dem and Pub, are simply walking, talking bullshit, defending their voting or electoral crimes, and obfuscating above all else. (For that matter, I can’t watch sports shows featuring athletes either, for some of the same reasons.) I find myself sitting there, yelling at the tv, “Jesus, wouldja SAY something already?”

I want to start a political talk show called The Klaxon. Mounted over the table will be a WWII vintage surplus air raid horn. The host will be wearing a pair of shooter’s earmuffs. As soon as any of the guests, of either party, starts spouting a talking point, the horn is sounded.

What do folks think of the first two weeks of the program?
