"All right, I'm going to say it...I actually LIKED..."

I might well have this thing won, as I actually really liked RV, despite my inner comedic snob direly warning me against doing so.

Also, though I’m certainly no fan of most chick flicks and romcoms, I must confess a deep inherent weakness for The Devil Wears Prada, Green Card, and, yes, Pretty Woman.

In addition, I find both Julia Roberts and Sarah Jessica Parker exceptionally sexy (and not in the least horse-y), and I find Gwyneth Paltrow stunningly beautiful and not at all annoying.

I love the movie, Caligula.

The two Matrix sequels.

They get a lot of hate here and, I admit, they aren’t as good as the first one. I didn’t like 'em at first viewing. I was baffled and befuddled after seeing Reloaded the first time. However, they have grown on me quite a bit since then.

,

Nope. Very funny show. Only saw it in syndication, and was surprised at how much it made me laugh.

Yeah. I have the DVD.

Here’s my entry:

Ishtar.

“No sir, no sir, we did NOT shoot at two Americans in the desert.”
“The roof of the emir’s palace is gold, but the people have never seen a refrigerator.”

And for the guys who are posting because they like a “girl movie” and make reference to their “man card …” Oh please. I get SO tired of this meme. Liking a good movie that happens to have a romantic theme or lack car explosions is not a betrayal of your gender; it’s a sign that you are a fully adult human with, you know, feelings and stuff.

Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk.

On the OP’s choice, it took me a year of reading on and off to finish Tommyknockers. It was my first Stephen King book and I hadn’t heard the backlash for the book. All I knew was King was a popular author and I wanted to love him like everyone else. Oddly, what irked me most was his lack of proper chapters. I always liked to finish reading a chapter, so I lost alot of sleep and got extremely frustrated by that. Only years later did I realize those numbered breaks littered throughout the chapter served that very purpose.

I like:

  • Barry Manilow
  • Disco music.
  • “My Heart Must Go On” (and Titanic, for that matter)
  • “Candle in the Wind” (but not the Princess Di version–that’s too bad even for me!)
  • The USA Network “Swamp Thing” TV series from the early 90s

Oh, and I loved Hannibal.

I STILL like Bring it On, with Kirsten Dunst.

I have good memories of watching it as a teenager and loving the dorky-but-hot male love interest. But if it’s any consolation, I hate myself for liking it.

OP, I liked the Left Behind series, too. I’m not Christian, but I read the first one just to see what it was like and got hooked. I would race to the library whenever they’d inform me that the next one I’d put on hold had come in.

I liked the War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise that everyone else thought sucked.
I’ve seen The Day After Tomorrow five times.

I like her music, too, at least some of it. I have her album “Up”. I play the pop disc, not the country disc.

In 1979 Elton John released his album “Victim of Love”. It’s generally considered his worst album. Most Elton John fans hate it. iTunes doesn’t even carry it.

Well, I really like it.

I like Glen Campbell’s music up to about 1970, and Neil Diamond up to about 1972.

Book, or movie? The book is really pretty good.

the last action hero,
that movie was pure spoof/satire from beginning to end.

I’m pretty frustrated that I haven’t been able to watch this thing all the way through. I’ve been able to watch the action scenes on youtube, but I want to watch the whole movie.

The Super Mario Brothers movie. I don’t know why so many people see it as an atrocity.

I like the theme from Golden Girls.

Tellin’ the truth is dangerous business when you play the accordion in a rock 'n roll band. (I need to rewatch this - I have many fond memories of recovering from a massive hangover on Sunday morning with my roommates watching this movie.)

I like Titanic — and I am not ashamed to admit it! I cried when I saw it in the theater. I thought it was a great piece of movie-making and if I could, I’d watch it right now (if I could stand to re-watch that scene in the lower decks with the mother and the children. BOO HOO!).

And Leonardo DiCaprio was cute.

this is the only one i take offense to.

i like “Fired Up”. it’s hilarious.

And the third movie you liked was…?

-Joe, generous

Actually that one I didn’t see because I just don’t like the Last Airbender series. It didn’t do anything for me so I felt no need to see the movie. I might rent it though just to see what MNS did with it.
