WOO-HOO! For a minute there, when NYG was in OT with Phil, I thought my 'Boys might recapture the East. Hopefully, Parcells has learned that when he opens up the offense, he wins. When he tries to “establish the run” for 3.5 quarters of the game, he loses.
After yesterday’s effort in which the Giants seemed determined to keep the Eagles in the game I’m a bit worried about the KC game too. In fact, if they were playing it in Kansas City I’d probably write it off.
I’m feeling good about the remaining games, though, because I think they can beat Washington and Oakland is Oakland.
I don’t like where Christmas and New Year’s fall this year, because I hate Saturday games that don’t involve the NCAA.
Re: the hold on Whitten, it wasn’t called against the DB but instead on the LB, #56, who held him prior to the release of the ball, hence the confusion. Yes, definately a hold.
Didn’t get to see much of the NYG/PE lovefest yesterday aside from during commercials in the Cowboys win. Can anyone tell me why the Giants had such a hard time, especially considering Philly’s 42-0 flustercluck last Monday? I’d figured it was to be another rout.
KC @ NYG (undecided until hear more about Gs yesterday) Dallas @ Wash Phil @ StL
Giants Defense started out badly and they lost Pierce early. The Giants best Tackler.
The O-line was down to it last reserve and Philly play very well.
Additionally Eli was having a bad day. I think he was getting gun shy because of the weak O-Line. 2 4th qtr interceptions on bad passes nearly killed us.
I forgot to mention that the Giants defense seemed to make a major half time change, stressing pass rush and leading to I think 5 2nd half sacks after only 1 in the first half.
For a weird moment I was grumbling at Philly for leading the Giants and ruining my pick for the week’s football pool. Then I snapped back to my senses.
I was so glad to see Anthony Henry back. I had my doubts when they spent so much money on him, but damn he has been worth it this year. I heard a sad rumor that they may let Leroi Glover go next year because of the salary cap.
Surely, it’s a typo. Either that or space aliens have taken control of Joe’s robotic leg and are threatening to kick Paul McGuire and Mike Patrick live on the air if he didn’t pick the Cowgirls. [/tin foil hat off]
I was away for a couple of weeks, and actually scored a ticket to the… ugh… Eagles-Seahawks game. Ack ack.
Well it looks like the Giants take the NFC East this year, but I don’t see them going far in the playoffs.
I think the Eagles compete for the NFC East next season. We’re getting a lot of our players back next year who were injured this season (only 2 of the current 11 offensive starters are the team from the Super Bowl) and although the other 3 teams have improved they’re still not terribly impressive. Witness the Giants needing an OT turnover to beat the hobbled Eagle second (and third) stringers…
You will also note that he has the worst experts “pick’em” rating on that page, by a healthy margin. Hopefully he’s wrong about this one as well.
The Redskins top 3 CBs are all listed on the injury report this week (probable), so that concerns me a bit. If the D-line can get to Bledsoe early in the game, that would go a long way toward a 'Skins win.
