Golf season is starting with the Farmers tourney on the tube. Soon comes the Masters. Tiger has to get at it if he wants to win the first major of the year.
What kind of reception do you think he will get? Will it differ if he comes back at Augusta rather than a week or 2 earlier for a tune up?
Will his caddy Steve get in fist fights keeping people silent for Tiger? Is the adoration of the fans a component in Tigers golf psyche? Can he win again?
How about we wait to see Tiger actually return to golf before we speculate. From the reports, he’s either out shagging everything female he can find, or he’s in rehabilitation of some sort (how the hell do you “rehabilitate” from wanting to have sex?? :eek:). Until further notice, he’s not playing golf.

I’ve just be holding out hope that this leads to some Elin payback in which she starts traipsing around the globe like a celebutante in various states of undress highlighted by an accidental nip slip in surf off St. Barts.

I do find it curious that there has been no word of Tiger working on his game.
Yes, he is the best in the world by far, but his excellence is due in large part to his incredible fitness and practice regimen. Don’t see that he can predictably expect to be in top form immediately after a prolonged layoff. And I wouldn’t think he would want to return at anything far from his best. It will be tough enough to handle with all of the questions and commentary he will get - will be far worse if he does not win (or come close) in one of his first efforts.
BTW - golf season starting? You missed the last 3 weeks! Thought Ben Crane was going to piss this one away coming down the stretch…
Crane won because he sunk a bunch of very long putts. Then, almost lost it by missing a short one. I did read a couple weeks ago that Tiger was working on his game. But practice and competition are not the same thing. He has to enter a tourney or 2 to get over the new reception he will face, whatever that may be.
I predict a loooonnnggg downward spiral for Tiger. Not a golf fan, just asense of his attitude about his addictions.
