This has been asked before, I’m sure. However, I have been unable to find it after a search on the SDMB. So the simple and lazy way is to ask the person who answered it before, or any one else who knows, how do I do it?
Right click on the list, choose “sort by name”.
Thanks Boscibo. That was quick. This thread can now be closed.
This is one of my pet peeves with Microsoft.
They have options you can go away from but can’t get back to.
When you first install, things are sorted and stay sorted.
But at the first drag-and-drop they forget all about that.
You can never get it back.
It’s that way on the Program menu as well.
It’s like that “never ask me again” question. Once turned off, it’s hell trying to get it turned back on.
Having done this, there may be one or two entries you want to re-position by hand, out of alpha order. CLick on the entry, right click and keep clicked, move it until the black line is where you want it to be, release.
Boscibo: I clicked on Favorites and then right clicked onthe list but I didn’t get the choice you described. Did I do something wrong?
If you right click on the list, you should get an option that reads: “Sort by name.” At least I did on IE5.5. Worked for me.
Thanks for the other hint about moving just one or two items. All this stuff is very useful.
