Help. Simple Win 98 IE5 question.

Win 98 SE, IE5.

I’d expect all my IE5 ‘Favourites’ sites to be in alphabetical order, but they aren’t. Can I either automatically re-sort into alpha order, or manually re-order all the entries? If so, how?

Similarly with my Start > Programs > list. I have been able to add/delete so I have a list of just the progs I want, but they are not in the sequence I want. Any way to achieve a desired sequence?

Thanks. And as a relative newbie, if I should have posted this elsewhere, just tell me and I’ll go there.

Disclaimer, I am using Win95, not Win98, but I should think it’s an internal IE thing anyway. Well, I hope someone comes along with a tidier solution, but as far as I can see, you can only “organize” the favourites in the sense of putting them into different folders etc. It seems to me that the ones most recently added go to the end of the list.

Right click on your Start button.
Select Explore.
Double Click ‘Programs’ in the second window.
Right click on an empty area in Scond window-
Select Arrange icons…

Same story for favorites… just open the favorites folder and do the same.

Nope, you seem to have got the right place **ianzin **.
To organise your favorites select from your toolbar: Favourites>Oganise favourites. When the pop-up organise favourites window comes up, right click. Select [Arrange Icons>By name.
For your programs list in your task bar
Click [Start]>Setting>Taskbar. when the pop-up appears select the [Start Menu Programs] tab. Click on the [Advanced] button. When the pop-up appears you can organise your programs exactly as you do in Windoes Explorer.

absoul’s and Gaspode’s methods should work fine. Another method is to just drag them where you want them.

If you pop up your start menu, you can go to anything on there and drag it to another place in the list. You’ll see a black line indicating where the dragged icon will be after you let go of the mouse.

Same for favorites.
