As an Alzheimer’s researcher, I feel I can comment on the aluminium causing AD. Whilst there is indeed evidence both for and against this metal causing AD, the bulk of the evidence would suggest that there is no real link. I would happily be proved wrong but most research into AD (and there is an awful lot these days)does not in any way concentrate on aluminium, or any other metals for that matter. Most research does concentrate on 2 little genes which are responsible for the amyloid precursor protein and the presenelins. Whilst not going into any detail here about them, I can reassuredly say that they have nothing to do with aluminium. Hope this helps.
