I remember Joe Rogan as an unfunny comedian wannabe. I see that he’s quite stupid, as well. 30 million a year. Jesus.

That’s a huge logical fallacy.
No idea of Milano’s work and what I’ve seen of Rogan gives a lot of “thick man’s thinking man” vibes.
The rubes can never get enough of dimbulbs like Rogan and Alex Jones. I’m surprised Milano hasn’t figured that out by now. You need the easy marks.
Just curious of The Joe Rogan detractors, what sort of media are you watching or listening to?
It doesn’t matter. Listen or watch to whatever you want.
The problem with Milano’s comment isn’t that she’s right or wrong about Joe Rogan; it’s that she sounds both entitled and fucking stupid. The fact her podcast has fewer listeners than Rogan’s could be the result of ten thousand other things besides their relative quality. The fact Rogan’s podcast is kind of stupid doesn’t mean Milano’s podcast is worth listening to. Milano is not entitled to more listeners than Rogan, or any listeners at all. A time when tens of millions of people are out of work is a bad, bad time for a privileged white lady in the entertainment industry to whine about how many listeners her podcast has, and a super terrible time to complain about how successful someone else is.
If ever the phrase “shut the fuck up” was well-deserved, here’s the occasion.
I wouldn’t call myself a detractor or proponent- I don’t listen to his podcast much at all, and when I have, it’s been more for interviews with specific people, usually former wrestlers or people like Dr. Peter Hotez.
From what I’ve seen, he’s NOT a hardcore Trumper or right-wing type. At least not when compared to the Rush Limbaugh, Mark Davis and Mark Levin shows that my former co-workers used to listen to regularly. He’s definitely a kook though, and somewhat lacking in his thought processes.
But around here, not being a dyed-in-the-wool progressive or SJW seems to paint you as the enemy, and Joe Rogan is neither of those things.
I don’t listen to Rogan much, like bump it’s mostly been because of a specific guest I’m interested in. One thing I can definitely say for Rogan is that he knows how to shut the fuck up and let his guest do the talking. He doesn’t do much talking over, interrupting or shouting down–all of which I’ve seen and heard from both liberal and conservative hosts. He doesn’t seem to have much of an agenda and is generally quite genuinely interested in what his guests have to say and he lets his audience make of it what they will. For this alone he deserves quite a bit of respect and for this alone he deserves to be well paid. He gets interesting guests who have things to say and he books them and LETS THEM FUCKING SAY IT. Makes him a rare treasure in American media.
he’s just a shit-stirrer. he’s said that he wanted Bernie, and if he couldn’t have Bernie then he’d vote for Trump. That means he just wants to stir the pot for attention. Anything he says, he says with the goal of getting people to listen to him. Which they shouldn’t; he’s a stand-up comedian who hosted Fear Factor. not exactly one of the great minds of our time.
Nah. You’re describing how she comes off to people who already dislike her. To her core audience, it comes off as relatable, as it’s the same sort of thing we think. It does suck that a podcast that regularly features alt-right (i.e. white nationalist) demogogues has such a high audience.
It really isn’t all that relevant what Rogan believes. It’s relevant what he has on his show, since that’s what people are listening to. And people don’t regularly listen to people who they think are vile and evil. I’m sure you don’t catch the Child Molesters weekly podcast or catch the Murderers Unite podcast.
So the fact that he has so many listeners means that we have a lot of white supremacist sympathizers in this world. They want to hear what these alt-right people have to say, not just for a bit of research in the awful, but as an enjoyable part of their listening experience. And not because Rogan is tearing into them or something.
I’m not even that interested in Milano’s show at all But I still find it a sorry state for our country that Rogan is so popular. That giving the white supremacists who renamed themselves a veneer of respectability is so popular. And not like part of some dying generation, since it’s a podcast and most fans I know are my age.
Though I am considering listening to it simply because I now know it has 1/3 the audience of Rogan’s podcast. That’s a lot, so maybe it actually is good. It is also. I admit, a nice advertising move. Maybe not for those predisposed to hate her, but for the rest of us?

That makes no sense to me. If I want to listen to them talk, I’ll listen to them talk. Why would I want to listen to a show where the host doesn’t do anything?
Especially when again, he has alt-right people on. If someone is not rebutting the alt right, and letting them just spew their hate, then they’re part of the problem. They’re boosting these people, not trying to stop them.
White supremacists are are festering wound in our country that we need to heal, not spread their illness to everyone. You can argue that allowing them to the debate table is good, but it’s never good to let evil run unopposed.
And the rest, if they’re interesting on their own, then I’ll listen to them on their own. Or, more likely, read what they have to say, as it’s easier to scrutinize when you can see it all in front of you.
Though I admit I like listening to Beau of the Fifth Column. No need for him to go on some show, he just points a camera at himself and talks. If that’s what you want, that’s how you get it.
I highly doubt she has “a third” of the listeners of the most popular podcast in the world, she sounds like she’s pulling Trump inauguration numbers.
Lol Joe Rogan a white supremacist? People are just being silly now, does a white supremacist have a black step daughter? He must not be very committed to the cause.
Alyssa Milano’s core audience? You’ve got to be joking!
Sam Seder’s Majority Report
He said recently that he would vote third party in 2020.
Does this give Allyssa Milano a little more of a point? I think so.
I don’t dislike her at all; I’ve always liked her, agree with her views on most things, and I am not a Joe Rogan fan, but this is a staggeringly bad take on her part. I don’t like Alyssa Milano blindly; her comments come off as absolutely terrible and self-absorbed.
I don’t think you quite grasped the point here. Rogan, however much I don’t like the MMA Bro culture, is a good interviewer. A good interviewer knows how to make the guest the focus of attention. It’s not that Rogan doesn’t say ANYTHING, but he doesn’t say too much. Interviewing is much harder than it looks.
And you don’t think the guy is in the business of interviewing Nazis and Trumpists, do you? He’s interviewed pretty much everyone, most of whom are entertainment industry types.
As of June 12 he was anti-mask:
Maybe he’s changed, but to be anti-mask at all is pretty extreme stupidity.
Oh, now I see. The guy is really stoned, and not really smart.
He is in the business of being a clearing house and laundromat for massaging bad ideas into the ecosphere. He plays the “regular reasonable common sense guy” in that scam. Just askin questions and letting the people decide. But it is a strategic decision on what questions he’s asking.
They are all working on massaging a quasi-fascist base, (the opposite of liberalism) which is their $ and a constant shimmering idea on the horizon which gets viewers and clicks, even by liberals.
