Am I out of line?

I got irritated that peple kept demanding I prove my views were correct and that my God did exist, did not like suicide, and that it was a terrible stain o’er the land. I responded there as appropriate.

But really, I’m wondering, was I out of line or something? I never pretended there was a giant stone block out of the sky, just voiced my opinion and presented it as such, because it was not the right time or place to debate over God. I tired of that long ago and I had and have no desire to hijack the OP. Should I have responded directly? Or what?

I feel kind of hurt people act that way; it felt liek they were demanding I fulfill a higher standard or something. Or maybe I’m just a :wally .

Well, your first post there was pretty defensive. After that it’s a matter of defending your viewpoints. Standard ‘GD’ issues there.

Don’t take it personally and go defend yourself. Realize that religion and religious beliefs are NOT something one can rationally debate so be prepared for a sound philosophical justification for your beliefs but realize that the mud may fly.

You misread that as demand to back something up. He’s saying it would take more than your word to change his view, or to get him to accept it.

You were only out of line when you called another poster an arrogant fool.(You can call his argument arrogant and foolish, though) Everything seemed kosher till then.
