Am I the only one digging Revelations (the show)?

Ok, saw the first three episodes of this last night, and I must admit I’m digging it.

Now, to say, I normally don’t watch tv anymore since most shows seem pretty low. Last series I caught regularly was Buffy & Angel, but it seems that little has lived up to that level of writing since.

I’ll admit that Revelations does seem to have it’s share of “WTF?” moments, but overall it seems this show has a lot of potential, and so far has laid down some pretty cool plot arcs that I hope it will follow up on.

I haven’t seen anythins else here on this so, anyone else into this show, or should I expect a cancellation notice in a couple of weeks? :dubious:

I watched 45 minutes of the first episdoe, tuned out, and have barely thought of it since. I like pulp fiction as much as anybody but this was too over the top even for me–and I read Clive Cussler, Stephen King and Tom Clancy … or maybe I’m just burned out on the subject matter …

I don’t think there’ll be an abrupt cancellation. It’s a mini-series, all the shows are already filmed and ready to go, and I doubt they’d want to just let the final episodes go to waste. There might be a sudden re-scheduling to a less desireable time slot, though, if the series proves unpopular.

It’s scheduled to run for 6 episodes, and they’ll probably play all six. I don’t know if it’s setup in such a way that they wouldn’t be able to extend it beyond that. No idear.

I’ve been watchin’ it. Notbad, not great, but it got the Season Pass on my Tivo…so it must not totally suck.

There were a couple of threads started right when the first episode came out. I’ve seen all three so far, and I am completely bored with it. Well, not completely, as I figure I’ll probably watch the next three since I’ve already seen half, but it’s just not very interesting. I still can’t figure out why the astrophysicists are always expounding on the nature of God. Or why the satanists use a different language to speak in. Or the fact that nuns managed to kidnap a braindead girl (I know, I know, she’s not really braindead). Or even more, why it’s apparently okay to kill some innocent girl just so Dr. Scientist’s daughter can speak in cryptic Latin verses. AAAAH!!! There’s so much wrong with this show!

I’m enjoying this show mainly because of Bill Pullman. I love this guy. He’s equally at home doing comedy or drama, and I can’t get enough of him. As Bill Pullman has aged, he has acquired the sexiest little double-chin since David McCallum.

The script is the usual muddle of theological distortions and devil-movie clichés, but the performances by Pullman and Natascha McElhone raise this to a higher level than I expected. Move over, Scully & Mulder.

I’m not really digging it, but I keep hoping it is going to pay off – I’ve grown too used to disappointment where television is concerned.

It seems like so far all were getting is exposition, and granted there is a lot of that to get out, but please something more could happen. It seems to believe that not understanding why things happen is somehow interesting. I like to know motivations for characters and so far the Sister on the verge of excommunication is the only one I think I understand anything about in terms of motivation. Everyone else just seems to go from moment to moment like puppets.
I suppose that could be the point, but if it is, color me seriously unimpressed.
