I saw a preview for this last night on NBC. Anyone else think this looked pretty good? I am kinda shocked a network would tackle something like this. Seemed more Fox than NBC to me.
So, did they spell it wrong or is there going to be a new revelation to add to the previous one?
pet peeve, ya know?
As for the show itself, I doubt NBC would let it get too out there. Although the networks do seem to be changing somewhat. LOST and Medium come to mind, but even those shows haven’t really probed any mystic depths.
Be interesting to see if it actually tries to be really metaphysical or not. or if they end up laming it all to pieces.
Actually that is how they spelled it on their web site.
I know, that’s why I said “they.”
'Tis a minor annoyance at most. I just hate to see it get nationally legitimised.
It almsot looks “Left Behind” in that promo that ran on the linked site. Any non promo sites or reviews about it yet? It’s really got my curiosity piqued, esp since it’s one of the Big 3.
I just read a review of this show by Matt Roush on TVGuide.com. I came here to ask people about it and fortunately thought to run a search before starting my own thread.
Based on the Roush review, I’ll definitely watch the pilot. I like this type of show.
It was a bit interesting to wander through Times Square Subway Station and see “Terminum Omnium Est” (IIRC) in big posters everywhere, couple weeks back. “The End (of everything) Is Nigh”, indeed.
Yeah, if they’re starting out with the titled botched what can we expect from the rest?
Don’t worry, folks. A show based on whether or not a baby’s mysterious arrival reveals him to be AntiChrist or the Second Coming isn’t going to be TOO Biblical. G
Of course, I’ll watch it, but I’m fearing it’ll be a superior remake of THE OMEN III: The Final Conflict.
Okay, well I watched it last night, and I am undecided as to if I liked it or not. It wasnt bad, but not entirely good either. I think I will give it one more shot.
I enjoyed it, though I have a low squick threshold and was a little tense because of it.
Satanic guy? Cree. Py.
Well, I have to start off saying that I didn’t watch it, but for those who are complaining that they “spelled it wrong,” keep in mind that they are not claiming that the title of the show is supposed to be the same as that of the Biblical book. Maybe the miniseries is about multiple “revelations” of varying sorts.
Yea, I agree…Satan guy was perfectly cast!! I hope he is not as creepy in real life, being his kid would suck!
Don’t watch much TV? The promos for this dreck have been in nearly every commercial break for weeks now. It’s aggravated me so much that I even started a Pit thread about it. The network succeeded in convincing me to never watch the damn thing.
Which is what makes this little story wonderfully perfect. Oh, the irony!
I finally got around to watching the video I taped.
OK, it choked me up.
But these really make me wonder-
The baby on the drift- reminiscent of a couple infant tsunami survivors
The girl in the PERSISTENT VEGETATIVE STATE- gee, when did I last hear that phrase?
Now, this thing had to have been in production over the past year. Did they just get lucky on the timeliness or did they maybe rush a few scenes into an already basically completed show? (It wouldn’t have been touch to have edited in the PVS line.)
Anyway, I liked it & am looking forward to the rest.
John Rhys-Davies & Bill Pullman both did promo interviews which are on the Christianity Today website. Looks like Gimli may well actually be a believer, and Pullman is at least interested.
I kept waiting for Rhys-Davies to bellow, “You are named after the dog?”
