Am I the only one getting annoyed with "24" (Spoilers up to 4-5a.m.)

So, we’re a few weeks behind you guys, but it got to the point last night were I started flipping to other channels, because I was so annoyed at what was happening.

I will mostly apply a great deal of suspension of disbelief, when watching a movie or teevee-show. After all, it’s just entertainment. But I’m kinda done now. I even checked the episode guide about what’s coming up next, because I wanted to spare myself more annoyance.

  1. Kim Bauer. I guess she’s eye candy in a nubile sort of way, but bloody hell, it’s 2003 and she’s acting as if she’s the lady in distress in a 60’s movie. She’s the daughter of a cop and quite a strong woman, who’s been through hard stuff before. I don’t believe that a character can be less resourceful. And what’s happening to her doesn’t match up with the plot. New terrible stuff just get thrown in her way to create a fake sense of suspense. Well it’s not very interesting or exciting and I really don’t care about her.

  2. I know they need 24 hours, since it’s the premise of the show, but they just keep dragging it out, more and more. Every week there are more stupid plot twist thrown at Jack so he won’t be able to resolve everything in 22 hrs. It’s annoying and contrived.

  3. This last episode is when Palmer is taken into dustody after the palace coup. Please. I don’t know a lot about the inner workings of government, but surely, the whole conspiracy thing, with erased tapes ASF is just getting to dumb.

  4. Sherri Palmer is bugging me in a way I didn’t think was possible. She’s everywhere, the whole damn time. She’s more resourceful than James fucking Bond, with connections better than the CIA. I’m not buying it for a minute and I hate the actress who’s trying to look sinister all the time.

  5. Am I really to believe that Ryan Chappele (who also tries to look sinister), is in the pocket of the V.P. and will actively try to stop an investigation, one of his officers is conducting, because they need to prepare for war? CTU prepares for the war? In L.A.? WTF

There are more things, but yesterday I found myself switching channels to ‘Bridezilla’, which is a sure sign that I won’t be tuning in next year.

Well, sure, the suspension of disbelief required was so enormous that I was actively considering contacting Joseph Strauss in the spirit world for engineering advice, but it was still a lot of fun.

Eventually, though, I did a flip-flop and began gleefully embracing the ‘flaws’ as another source of entertainment. Comedy and suspense.

Mmmmmm… Gleefully embracing Kim…

I, for one, hope that next year’s show is “24: Kim Bauer, running. Always running.”

I highly suggest that you start taping the shows, and watch them all at the same time. There’s very little time to overanalyze the show and pick at the flaws. Suspension of disbelief is very easy as well.

Plus, you get to join the 24 Club!

Don’t have a VCR anymore… Waiting for that recorder, with a hard drive to come down in price. And I’m getting myself 42" of plasma goodness first.

Kim Bauer should be running. Not acting. She’s afflicted with The Hollywood Syndrome™, though - getting skinnier every month. It’s not becoming (and yet more strain on that suspension)

Might I suggest reading the previous hour by hour threads of 24 as you watch them. Then you’ll see that, yes, we 'Merkans we’re also annoyed with the Silly Adventures of Running Kim.

But man can she run.

I think the best possible scenario would be to have a picture-in-picture format for “24”, with a little “Kim Bauer Cam” in the bottom right.

And she should have been given a 24 hour spa therapy gift certificate by a friend for that day.

It started sucking after the bomb went off.

The blondes always suck (Kim, Marie, Kate <–ugk to the love interest!).

Kim serves no purpose except to shower and wear tank tops.

Even Mr Peg-to-be, who is a diehard fan of the show, agrees that this season has been much weaker than the first seasion.
