Am I the only one who doesn't give a damn about William and Kate?

In my case it was more about the ring thing as a whole. William just was the symbol that brought the question to mind.

Look at this lack of regard!

You know, for me, when given the choice between “go to something I don’t care about” and “pound my nuts flat,” I choose the thing I don’t care about. Unless I’m pounding walnuts to make my Grandma’s Walnut Pie Crust.

It actually isn’t at all easy to avoid hearing about this garbage. I wish it was.

Or Frederick and Our Mary.

I’m interested. I like the pagentry. It’s fun to watch. So sue me.

Generally, I’m the same way. However, this requires more drastic steps.

Honestly, I haven’t noticed that much in the news about it. Maybe it’s because I’m not paying attention but I certainly don’t feel beseiged by William and Kate news any more than any other news I don’t particularly care about.

I just did a Google image search for Kate Middleton. Wowza. Nice pull for Willie. Its good to be the future king. The Royal bloodline is going to get even better looking. I guess we have Diana to thank for that.

I see what you did there.

Bolding, of course, was mine.

I’m not sure how much the bloodline will be improved. They’re already cousins – distant cousins, but still…

I like to call this “The Bieber Effect”. Easily 99.9% of anything I’ve ever heard or seen about Justin Bieber was because people can’t not complain about him to anyone nearby. Same thing is entirely the reason for Rebecca Black’s popularity. Granted, not exactly the same thing with the Royal family, but you get the idea.

And yeah, to be honest? There’s a lot of things I’d rather do than pounding my nuts flat with anything. I mean, I’d rather watch Death Note, or go to a Skillet Concert, I might even sit down and watch a Star Trek Voyager marathon (I said might!)

How distant are we talking here? Cause cousins can be pretty danged distant. Distant to the point of there being practically no blood relation at all.

I care, not a lot but I care a smidgin.

The Queen is our head of state and that is the way like it. I don’t want New Zealand to become a Republic, paying out a huge salary for some useless old politician to be president, not when the Queen is wayyyyyy over there not interfering in anything (nor does the GG!),

So because I am happy that the Queen is our head of state, I’m a little interested in this wedding. Plus all the pomp and ceremony is pretty cool. I’m quite fond of history and all its rigmarole.

I’m looking forward to watching it on telly, that doesn’t mean it’s a big deal to me but I will watch.

15th cousins, isn’t it? I’m probably related if we’re going that far afield.

William and Kate produce the same emotion as pretty much everybody else who appears in magazines - mildly benign disinterest.

I have the apparently rare talent to not be affected by papers I don’t read, links I don’t click or conversations I don’t take part in, though

Pretty much the same for me. He seems nice. She seems nice. I hope it all works out for them. Not planning on watching or going anywhere near the place. (Actually, that’ll probably be the best time to pop out to Ikea in Croydon - everyone else will be at home watching the wedding.)

I considered buying a Will and Kate biscuit tin but decided that paying too much for crap biscuits was against my principles.

Oh man. The wedding I’m fairly blase about. The Olympics I am thoroughly pissed off about. When they sell off the facilities, I want my damn tax money back.

I feel EXACTLY the same about about the stupid World Cup Rugby! Because of the Christchurch earthquake Auckland is picking up three extra games…to the tune of THREE MILLION DOLLARS!

THREE MILLION DOLLARS FOR THREE GAMES OF RUGBY, are they playing with solid gold fucking balls? The second this stupid event is over the better! (GO the AB’s…I don’t want to be chucked out of the country:D).

By my usual standards of ‘giving a damn’, I don’t give a full damn.

I think I can muster up a d.

Don’t give a shit about the wedding.

But given that I felt that Diana wasn’t anywhere near as beautiful as she was cracked up to be and didn’t improve the Royal Genetics one bit, I think Kate may help in that department.

Of course, it would be far more amusing if he was marrying Jessica Simpson or Christina Aguilara. :stuck_out_tongue:

Plus she had SERIOUS issues! Diana is the 2nd most over rated person ever…just after that Beiber freak!

Which brings us back to Post #91.
