Am I the Only One With This Problem?

It takes me forever to buy toothpaste

Gel, paste, stripes, crystals, breath freshening, cavity prevention, sensitive teeth, tartar control, flouride protection, bleach, baking soda, peroxide, free toothbrush, free mouthwash, bonus tube

Choosing toothpaste should be a no-brainer but I always end up
spending half the day crouched down in the aisle analyzing labels.

Voting for president is an easier decision.
I am so thankful for the two-party system.

I have trouble with this toothpaste and toothbrushes both. haha

So many choices!!

Add in shampoo and you’ve got me. A trip to Target for toothpaste, a toothbrush and shampoo could turn into an all day event.
And let’s please not talk about the grocery store…I’m starting to hate the that place.

Everytime I hear someone say “Am I the only one” I automatically want to say “Yes, it is only you, you freak.”

I hate to say it but I have the same problem. Not only do you have to worry about what the toothpaste does, but what kind of tube it comes in. I could spend an hour trying to decide.

I’m not a moron!
I feel so much better now.

I don’t have this problem with toothpaste, but buying a new toothbrush takes me forever.

I buy Crest regular. It makes my teeth clean.

BAH! I just use a bar of soap. Weaklings!

I’ve been using Crest since I was a kid - my only decision is whether to buy one tube or two. One of my few brand loyalties.

Here’s my routine for buying toothpaste, I hope it helps:

10 Move to next product
20 Is this product on sale?
30 If “No” GOTO 10
40 If “Yes” GOTO 50
50 Purchase

The only time when I’ve had to spend more than ten seconds choosing a tube of toothpaste was about two years ago when I went into a big grocery store that had two sections of a shelf filled with various types of toothpaste. However, at first it seemed that they were all mint-flavored, and I hate mint. It took me about five minutes to find the one brand that was offered in non-mint-flavored.

My family has used Crest for as long as I can remember and I still use it today (I prefer the gel over regular toothpaste, though). Picking out a brush usually isn’t a problem, either.

Now when I get to the cereal aisle this is where I spend lots of time trying to decide which one to buy. I have about a dozen or so favorites and I’ll usually choose the first one among these that I see is on special.

Munch, that algorithm will cause you to skip the first product.

(Sorry - I’ve made real mistakes like that in real programs more than once)

I buy the same one every time. I cannot stand the taste of every toothpaste out there. Hate it. Makes me gag. I do use it, though. Basically, what I had to do was build up a tolerance, so I’ve been using the same kind for about 20 years now - it’s still gross, but I’m so used to it that I don’t think about it. If I try another kind, I just want to throw up.

I seem to switch brands every time I purchase toothpaste. Right now I am on a “tartar control” kick, but next time it might be for whitening or fresh breath. The stuff that claims to “do it all” is generally so horrible, in both taste and consistency, that I can’t tolerate it. BTW, does anyone remember Pearl Drops? It came in that funky little contatiner, and the commercial had some babe running her tongue over and over her teeth because they felt so clean. Hysterical!

I use the Crest Advanced Cleaning toothpaste with the microcrystals. It feels like my teeth are smoother and well polished when I’m finished brushing.

Toothpaste - no, buy the same brand every time.

Toothbrush - yes, so many different varietys and colours to choose from, it takes me about 10 minutes to decide.

I’m convinced it’s all the same toothpaste. They just have different names as a marketing ploy to create an illusion of choice.
