Am I the only person watching Shear Genius?

Please tell me I’m not! God, it’s such a sad little ripoff of Project Runway, and yet it’s got such great wacky people! There was a girl who refused to stop cutting hair with hedge clippers! Why isn’t anybody talking about it?

I’m watching it. It’s actually not that bad. I actually cheered when hedge clipper chick got booted. It’s weird how it’s win one week, get booted the next.

But winning seems to be the kiss of death!
But then again, that means Tyson, who won, is next!!
BTW I post on the Bravo Website, so…
p.s.
Rene

Rene

I think I love you!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

You don’t think Rene has had some, shall we say, work done? And I know Tim Gunn, and you, sir, are no Tim Gunn. You’re not even Heidi.

There’s no way they’ll get rid of Tyson; he’s the only remaining conflict! They have to keep their Tabitha/Tyson thing going all the way to the end if they can. I was upset that whatshername got booted this time, though - I thought she had a good chance to win.

Oh, I am watching! But I think Bravo’s reality contest shows all need a dose of Tim Gunn.

Project Runway was fun and watchable because we saw the design, creation, work and criticism of something we’ve all worn (clothes), Tim Gunn and some drama thrown in…Fun!

Top Chef was harder to follow since we couldn’t smell or taste what was going on but the photography was pretty juicy and we had some drama.

Top Design was a little drama-heavy but we could understand enough to judge the designs for ourselves. This show suffered from the same problem that the better HGTV show did in that the winner was pretty clear from mid-season.

Now we have Sheer Genius and I am wondering if they are scarping the barrel for ideas. Face it, a head of hair, a pair of garden shears and an hour does not a genius hair style make. For me this show is more of a hair/dare version of ‘Fear Factor’ but I am thinking in terms of the poor victims, er, models but I’ve been a hair model.

All criticism aside, I’ll always watch because I find it interesting to see these pros work and their strategies. And face it, these contestants are all more interesting than the ones on ANTM!

I started a thread on this after the first episode, and I think there were like 5 responses. I’ve already gotten extremely bored with the show - is the peroxide-blond, probably-fake-British, (checks forum) b—h off the show yet?

I think this show is great! I loved seeing styles from all the different eras on the last episode. After that boring Top Design series I’m glad to see this one following in the footsteps of Project Runway.

groan. My current situation forces me to watch more TV than is healthy. One of the effects of this is that I have watched several episodes of this show. It is terrible but not the worst I have seen. At least the whole bunch is not as unattractive as in Top Design. And I liked the one where the white haired lady tried to screw the white haired dude giving him an Elizabethan hairdo and he won. That was fun.

Other than that, I am beginning to worry what will come next. America’s Next Top Plumber can’t be far behind.

Oh! and there is a copycat hair competition coming. Top Cut or something like that. sigh

I can watch any episode from the original Runway over and over but I am not finding reruns of Sheer Genius so watchable.

On an earlier thread we posited suggestions for the series and I am still looking forward to ‘Top Scrapbooker’. ‘Top Philatilest’ and ‘Top Abstract Painter’. I like ‘Painter’ because it will require the artist to do things such as reproduce ‘The Last Supper’ in found objects in Central Park or a self portrait in 30 mins using only body fluids collected from above the neck.
