The sitcom Kitchen Confidential is finally back on, at least for a little while. I know some of you here don’t like it, 'cos it’s not the book. But last night’s was cool. Jim from Utah got packed in ice with a heap of fish.
My boyfriend and I watched it for the first time last night. We both really liked it. I think we might have a new show to add to our list of must watch.
Too bad it’s already cancelled.
I enjoyed last night’s episode the best so far, mostly for the introduction of Adam, the creepy baker from the book. I find the show horribly amoral, which shouldn’t bother me as a fan of James Ellroy and crime fiction in general, but I find the KC characters to be pretty morally bankrupt, mean, and nasty for what should be a comedy show. I loved Bourdain’s book, dark parts and all, so go figure.
I just saw it. I don’t know how they did it but I’m consistently impressed with the level of food knowledge and realism on the show. Too bad the rest of it is generic hollywood schlock. Pity it’s going to be cancelled.
Are you kidding? Bradley Cooper and Michael Vartan on the same episode?? Of course I watched it!
I really like this show, too, and am sad that it’s cancelled.
My wife and I laughed pretty hard during the show, especially during the whole Silence of the Lambs parody. I though poor what’s-his-name was going to have a slit in his side waking up in all that ice It’s a shame it’s to be cancelled… it didn’t even get a chance to flounder around.
I record both it and Arrested Development, when they’re on. Pretty amusing.
Sad. The show is getting much better. They are really efforting to minimize the parts that annoyed me the most from the early episodes.
I liked that Vartan got deported for tax evasion and it was then revealed that he had removed the lamb.
Funny stuff. This episode kind of reminded me of the old Cheers fued between the gang at Cheers and the patrons of Gary’s Olde Town Tavern.
Only this one involved anchovies up the butt.
It’s back and I missed it? Darn! I’ll have to try again next week.
