Or maybe some hidden genius which I somehow don’t see. In my arrogant opinion, those comments under most of those movies are criminally generous. What are they praising? Are those AI bots created by uploader? Are those from people to poor to go to movies buy a bargain bin DVD, or download/watch online if you find the right place?
I mean, I am not a learned cinematographer, but I immediately see them as ‘off’. Is it boring eventless scene editing? No, we don’t need 3 minutes of showing someone looking for an intruder in their home plainly and slowly walking through same hallway. Wooden acting? People generally have involuntary gestures and grimaces, and actors should know to show that. Non-existent camera work? Like, come, on, move it! Carry this thingie around, roll it, pump, it yaw it! Pointlessly prolonged dialogue? I mean, why would you talk about casual happening for a such long time as thought you are discussing future marriage or living arrangements?
I mean, a lot of random people talk about bad lighting and type of film stock or digital format and sound on make cheap mikes, but come on, it’s secondary. Equipment is less important than actual cinematic skill.
Also, yeah, I get it - wanna quality stuff, pay up. Don’t expect much from free movie put up by probably students or hobbyist. Fair stance.
So, what do you think? Is there something to be enjoyed there?
