Amazing 100 MPH crash video captured on police dash camera

Many smartphones these days with video cameras also have car docks that mount on the windshield or dashboard – many times the camera lens is unobstructed by the dock, and if it is, it can usually be slightly trimmed or drilled so that recording video is trivial.

This actually gives me an idea for an app: a video recorder that records a few-minute loop until you hit a button to save it. Such a thing probably already exists – let the search commence!

Remember to only show the video if it’s the other guy’s fault!

In this one, the light turns yellow as I get to the intersection. Since the place is lousy with red-light cameras, I want to make sure I get across in time. I floored the gas for a moment, but the throttle stuck WFO,while everyone ahead was stopping!
I was on the brakes immediately, but it didn’t matter; the truck just kept going. You can hear the tires squealing as I plow through a small opening and manage to kill the ignition without hitting anyone. Luckiest thing to happen to me in a year!

The voice in the background is my hands-free set; I had just finished a call, and my reaction is why this is NSFW if you have your sound on!

The majority of Neal Boortz’s audience would not appreciate the language on display in the post above.

This crash made me late for work. There was so much wreckage across all of the southbound lanes of the highway that there was no way for anyone to get around. They eventually had to stop traffic on the northbound side of the highway and direct the southbound people to drive through the grass, down the wrong side of the highway for a little ways, and then back through the grass and back onto the southbound side. Meanwhile they funneled all traffic down to one lane and forced everyone to start getting off at the exit a mile back from the crash site. Everything wasn’t cleaned up until 6 hours later.

MY favorite part of the news story:

“Troopers are invetigating what role, if any, speed had in the accident”

Really?!? Did they watch the video?
I hate to laugh at such an awful video, but I had to laugh out loud at that line.

Right. The officer who’s cam recorded this said his cam records on a continuous loop, but the instant he hits his lights, it goes back and saves the last 2 minutes. That’s why we have the tape. Until the idiot sped past him, the officer knew nothing about this incident. When he witnessed the disintegration, he hit his lights, so the cam saved the previous two minutes of tape.

Side note: Eden(the stupid) was cited last Fall for 90 mph. He just doesn’t learn.

From the same link I just gave above.
