How can I put this…I’m guessing that Kynt & Vyxsyn’s relationship is not…physical?
And if you’re like me, and still wondering if you can catch the auto-gyro to Siam…Burkina Faso was called The Republic of Upper Volta until 1984, which may be why it doesn’t sound familiar.
For some reason, whenever I see Kynt, I can’t help but think of a paraphrase of a line from Rodney Dangerfield’s Back to School: “Hey, your wife was just showing us her Kynt!”
Oh, was it always them, then? Wasn’t really keeping track. I only counted the eyerolls my wife and I did, but didn’t pay much attention to who was it doing it. I guess this should make me a little less sorry for their demise, but I will hold strong on my contestant crush on them and say that it was them slipping to their native language.
Yes. Which is why it is always such a disappointment when they dress him in pants that are ill-fitting in the, er, crotchal region. (Not that I want to look at his crotch, per se, but it’s very noticeable when the trousers don’t fit right.)
I was glad to see that a few people did pick up on the French-speaking thing. Like Ron & Christina saying “tres bien!” and “merci” to the schoolchildren. The kids may have not been fluent in French, but I expect that they understood that much at least!
Did anyone else think it was stupid for that one team (forget who it was) to take their own flight by themselves to get in 40 minutes earlier to Paris? I know it almost paid off big time for them since the other plane had trouble, but if it was their plane that had trouble, being the only team on that flight would have screwed them completely. Until it is the end of the race, I think I would try to stay in the main pack a little more, or at least try to keep one other team with me on the flight. If the earlier flight would have gotten them to their final destination sooner, I would have maybe gone for it, but all it did was get them to the same connecting flight a little sooner. Why risk it unless it is the final leg.
I can see why running to the mat in the end can pay off though. Sometimes you leave just a minute or so before the other teams, and then you have a task where you have to sign up for a time slot. Being a few seconds ahead can get you on an earlier bus or train or boat or whatever and end up paying off. Or sometimes you assume you aren’t running for first or last, but end up being wrong. I think I would just run for it every time to be safe. No harm in trying, there.
I wouldn’t call it stupid, or even risky in this case. Since both flights connected via Paris, there was very little risk involved – and as you mentioned, it nearly paid off big time. Now, if the earlier flight connected through a different city (such as Madrid), that would be a major risk. In which case, you would want at least one or two teams to accompany you on the earlier flight – so if you miss the connection and wind up hours behind, you still have a chance of beating someone else to the Pit Stop.
Fortunes are won and lost all the time due to airport strategy. That’s one of the things that make this show so awesome.
