Amazing Race 11/04/07 - "Donkeys Have Souls Too"

Just a public service announcement for those like me who mostly read the internets at work, The Amazing Race kicks off again on Sunday night at… some time. The TV gods are working against us apparently:

  1. I’m pretty sure it starts at 8PM/7PM central, but my DVR shows it starting one hour later.
  2. The Pats/Colts game is on CBS that afternoon, and could go long.
  3. We have to set our clocks back an hour that morning.

So if anyone actually manages to catch the show, enjoy!

My DVR is doing that as well, but for all shows next week. My NSWAG is that it has to do with the time change.
Thanks for the reminder, Slacker. I love this show!

Can’twaitcan’twaitcan’twaitcan’twait!

I’m SO looking forward to another season of dumb people doing dumb things in foreign countries! I even reread “My Ox Is Broken” just to get ready for it…

I am hoping that the game goes late, just because 8pm is the kids’ bedtime and I always miss the first half hour. Sorry to inconvenience the rest of you.

I’m taping it, and hope to watch it sometime this week.

I’ll be at the SO’s tonight, and he has no TV reception to speak of, and no cable.

I just have to echo jayjay’s ‘can’twaitcan’twaitcan’twait’ attitude.
Stupid people doing stupid things!

Whose relationship will be completely stressed by the end of the first episode?
The grandfather and grandson? The sisters?

I certainly hope there’ll be a guest appearance from Rob and Amber, seeing as how they were snubbed last season. I think it would be a good idea if they were to start the race with a kiss. Think how cool that would be in the Playboy mansion!

The obvious answer is to let the kids stay up an extra hour and watch the Race.

Or move to the Central Time Zone. A very decent chance the Pats-Colts game will go over 3 hours tonight, so adjust the stop times on your DVRs accordingly if you aren’t watching live.

I originally read that as “go over by 3 hours” and I was a little upset because I don’t think my TiVo goes beyond 3 hours over!

Am patiently awaiting the first Philimination AND the goofy nicknames that the Dopers will be giving the teams.

Just a warning to folks: The game ended at 7:20. They never shorten “60 Minutes”, so the first ep will probably start at 8:20 or so. Just a heads up…

Edited: Just to address Slacker’s OP, the TV Guide website says 8PM.

I can honestly say that I gave that a good try last season. They just turned 3 and 5, however, so letting them stay up doesn’t at all mean that I can watch the Race, as I have plenty of talking to them and actually, you know, being a mom, to do when they are up.

I guess I’ll be watching it on CTV rather than CBS, since it’ll be starting on time the Canadian network. I like the title of the first episodes, “Donkeys Have Souls Too”, an am really keen to see where they are in Ireland and whether it was somewhere I was last month. Can’twaitcan’twaitcan’twait.

And they’re off!

Is it just me, or do the Blonde best friends look like twins? Seriously, they look more related than do the young black engineers.

I’m still waiting for 60 minutes to end. Football!

:sigh:

:frowning:

They do look a lot alike as do the Goth couple. Woohoo onto the Shannon airport!

Animals. Gotta love animals.

Stealing a cab is one thing. Destroying the hitching post? That’s sabotage! Put them in the penalty box!

Quick poll: who’s going to be knocked off first? I had an immediate feeling that it is going to be the Asian father/daughter team. Don’t know why. Who do you think?

BTW, I am shocked, shocked that there is a team of hot blondes and that there are several other female players who look good in bathing suits. Who could have guessed?

And how would you like to be the guy whose first introduction to millions of people is that he cheated on his girlfriend? Do you think that might come up again in the next few months?

No married couples this trip?

The lady ministers are married.

They put Aer Lingus in orange?! My mother is going to have a fit!
