Amazing Race finale, in 15 minutes, **spoilers**

FTR, I was never sure which was Carol and which was Brandy.

I was also never sure which was Dan and which was Jordan.

and I was also never sure which was Cord and which was Jet.

My guess:
Carol was darkheaded.
Dan (the straight brother) was the guy wearing underarmour clothes and wore the hat backwards. Jordan wore Nike clothes.
Jet was the red-headed cowboy.

Like you, I don’t know which brother (of either team) was which, buit I am almost sure that Brandy was the one with very short dark hair----She seemed much more unpleasant that her partner Carol, and also more of the alpha of the two…

It’s a bit late to offer this tip, but I remember Jet=black; Jet is the one with dark hair.

Carol and Brandy . . . maybe Brandy and Bitch both start with B? (Now I’m imagining a truly weird episode of Sesame Street.)

Cord was the redhead who wore the white hat. Jet was the dark haired one with the black cowboy hat. Think jet black.

The others I could never remember either.

**I’ve got to learn to type faster. Unauthorized Cinnamon got to it before me. But good thinking!

I understand what you are saying, but it seemed to me that the fact that they were lesbians really stuck in her craw. Maybe she doesn’t have a problem with gay males (although it was “the Brothers” who taunted her more in the beginning over her youtube moment), but it just seemed that she was most disparaging about “the Lesbians” because of their sexual preference, the way she kept on about “the Lesbians-this” and “the Lesbians-that” in almost every episode. In fact, whereas most teams referred to the other teams by the names of the people on them, Caite never did in regard to Brandy and Carol. In fact, I think she U-turned them because they were lesbians also. It’s not like they were that much of a threat.

I’ve never seen anyone with that much of a mad-on for another team, and the only conclusion I can draw from it is that she either was afraid of them or that she hated them because they were lesbians.

The thing is, we don’t know exactly what was edited out; it’s quite conceivable that she was worse than that, and all they left in was the suggestion that she was. Or maybe this is another instance that, as amarinth says, about another of the little princess’ phrases:

Maybe that’s what it is.

Now, I was never at all crazy about Brandy and Carol as a team, and it appears that this may have been true about other teams on the show, but seldom did you hear any of the other teams refer to them the same way. Caite made it sound like a slur every time she said it, and couldn’t have made it sound any worse than it would have been if she had referred to another team as “the Niggers” or “the Wops” or “the Camel Jockies” or something like that.

I have.

The bitter “sistah’s” hatred for the beauty queen blondes makes the Caitie/Brandy thing seem like a minor snit. The rabid hatred of smarmy gay kid against Boston Rob was much worse (but funnier–Rob never even noticed). Bolo (and everyone else) loathed Jonathon.

And besides I’m pretty sure everyone said that they were going to yield carol/brandy before the yield. Given how bitter they were and how much they hated everyone and everything, there’s something to be said for just yielding the bitches just to get rid of them. There’s only (at that point) a 1 in 6 chance you’re going to get the million so it’s important to make sure you enjoy yourself. And getting rid of wet-blankets may be worth it.

I didn’t get this impression at all.

Maybe she hated them because they kept making fun of her?

While we’re at it in terms of “legendary” Amazing Race hatreds, remember the wimpy little deaf kid and his hyperprotective mommy vs Keisha/whatshername feud that turned into actual pushing and shoving and calling people “bitches” on the air? Or the Frat Brothers vs the Guidos (that involved half-serious threats of real violence?)

Like I said, if I was on the race and a team was ruining the experience for me, I’d seriously consider using a u-turn or yield on them.

Who threw elbows? I remember they were running down a path in a wide open field after a mud volleyball challenge. I remember Jordan referencing it this week or last, saying they didn’t want to be the team “throwing elbows.”

I remember you pointing this out several weeks ago, so I paid attention to it to see if you were right. The next episode Caite referred to them countless times, and never once used the word “lesbians.” Every single time it was by name. So I think you’re projecting.

By contrast, I don’t think the lesbians (heh) ever once said “Jeff & Jordan,” but in every single instance referred to them as “Big Brother,” and usually with a sneer. So not only do I not think Caite was guily of this, but I think the team you’re defending was.

I think those were metaphorical elbows.

Or race expert Jordan (loved the notes) was referencing last year’s actual elbow throwing episode between the Globetrotters and Sam & Dan.

That’s them, thanks. Loved that reference by Jordan.

Excellently ruthless leg by Dan and Jordan, although I really would have liked the cowboys to make it.

I think that last bit from Phil was totally classless though. Good TV, maybe, but damn.

I didn’t get to watch this because my UVerse DVR got screwed up on Friday when a line tech “fixed” an issue we were having. We were out most of the weekend and didn’t even notice that things weren’t being recorded. We were going to watch it together online this week, but I just saw who won (thanks, Yahoo!) so I might as well read the thread.
