Starting the thread.
My picture went out for about 10-15 seconds right after Jet and Cord were talking about how they could win this thing. It started up again right as Brent and Caite were leaving. Did I miss anything interesting?

Brent and Caite are totally getting the Bitch Edit. I loved the whole “Caite should do this because it can show America that she’s got it upstairs” followed by her screwing it up.
I didn’t even realize Caite was the “and such as” Miss USA contestant. Now I really want them to lose.
I’m pulling for the cowboys and the detectives because I’m biased in favor of people who behave like adults.
Dan and Jordan aren’t so bad. How old are they?
No Amazing Race for me this week dammit. Instead I have to watch the same "semi-submerged Nashville " scenes over and over.
Did anyone do anything particularly funny/ stupid / amazing?
Shut up, Caite! Brent is trying to get his barriers!
Dan was edging into Ugly American territory tonight. Not full-blown, but getting there, with the language thing. I liked when Jordan said about holding onto the Chinese motorcycle guy… (“but I kinda liked that, so…”)
I think if I were actually going on TAR, I’d at least learn four words in Chinese, Arabic, Spanish and Russian: “follow”, “quickly”, “please” and “thank you”.
Yeah, “barriers”…what a tool that guy is.
What about Jordan’s “The don’t even understand their language…” and the hissy-fit in the back of the cab was a laugh, too.
Batsinma Belfry - Channel 5 said they’d broadcast the Race on their HD channel, but they didn’t.
Can anyone spoil me?
StG
IIRC, that was Brent, too. My immediate shout-out was “Not the way YOU’RE pronouncing it!”
I loved how Dan was looking like he was going to explode in the cab, while he kept shouting “FOLLOW!” at the cabbie, who obviously had no idea what the word meant the first 12 times Dan said it.
Yep, you’re right, and my reaction was exactly the same, too.
I was cracking up at how completely the Cowboys shut down mentally in the middle of the leg. First they couldn’t even conceive of actually getting on a bus. What was that about?
“Where’s the metro?”
“It’s got to be down here, there are so many buses.”
Good lord, talk about falling apart. Then pointing out Brent & Caite’s bags and saying how they must be close by while Brent is sitting literally 2 feet away from them. Comic ineptitude. They pulled it together, but still, those were some major lapses.
I thought he said something about he was worried seeing all those buses. Like he realized that maybe they should’ve gotten on the bus but they were so close to metro they might as well take the train.
I did laugh hysterically at them walking right past Brent.
Did the Cops (Louie?) take their pitch counter into the Buddha room to count the gold statues?
I thought it was very fair leg, and one that the Cops could have made time up. “The Garden Bridge” must be very hard to find.
I thought of that, but I didn’t see him using it. Don’t know why.
It’s a pity nobody had a small mirror, especially on one of those telescoping handles. The stamps were on glass shelves; you could just pass the mirror along under the shelf and see all of them. The mirror would un-reverse the names, too. But, if somebody packed all the “wouldn’t it be nice to have” items, they probably wouldn’t be able to lift their backpack.
Caite almost seemed bearable for the first fifteen minutes or so. That illusion was thoroughly shattered by the end of the episode.
For next week, go cowboys!
The brothers were working on finding that bridge for two hours before they decided to wait even longer for the cops. If they had been as good at finding the bridge as the other teams, the cops wouldn’t have had a chance. I think they focused a bit too much on the area around the Pit Stop, which seems odd because the first clue is rarely so close to the pit stop. I did love the stretching dude they went to for help. It sounded to me like he was learning to speak/read English but didn’t really comprehend a word they were saying.
I think the glass was frosted. Mike was trying to use his flashlight to look underneath the glass but with no luck.
I can’t believe Dan and Jordan basically went two hours without finding the bridge and then had to follow the cops to find it.
And that Speed Bump was a joke. Toss one coin each through a large opening? They might as well have just had a Speed Bump that said, “Count to ten.”
Caite did something amazing–she actually made me feel a little sorry for Brent when he had to go to the restroom.
Dan and Jordan were acting kind of like a-holes in their cabs. Looks like race fatigue is hitting them, and that could spell trouble for the final leg.
Still rooting for the cowboys, and crossing my fingers hoping they won’t make one of their not-infrequent mistakes during the final leg. I did love it when they strolled right by Brent while talking about looking for him and Caite. Brent was staring straight at them just waiting to be noticed.
Heh…yeah. I turned to supervenusfreak and said that I’d let him go to the bathroom if it were us. That was just mean.
“Pigs are elusive.” Hee! That should have been the episode title. I love the cowboys so much.
I was hoping for “In this Speed Bump, the team must go to this well-known traditional Chinese teahouse and drink an entire cup of tea. The owner will then hand them their next clue.”
