Amazon.com Top 100 List: Do you see what I see?

I usually browse the Amazon 100 list. Usually I’m not too surprised at what is on there, but every few weeks they throw something out that I just can’t believe is selling, and I wonder if someone is paying to have it included. This week:

The Nephilim You can’t even get it for 10-12 days. Does it show up on your Amazon top 100? Or have I been browsing some books that are way out there and is Amazon targeting me with this?

It shows up at #18 on my list. I wonder, though, if that wasn’t influenced by the fact that it was the most recent item I’d looked at (because I clicked on the link in the OP)? Somehow I doubt it, but I don’t know.

I’ve never heard of the book before you mentioned it here, but it looks like some whacked-out Christian Fiction. It’s probably being advance ordered in bulk by Left Behind types.

It shows up as #17 when I view the amazon.com 100, and I’ve never clicked on the book link.

I think my mom is all into those “Left Behind” books…I’ll have to ask her what the deal is…

Well, the book’s page on Amazon isn’t working now. You just get a blank page. But I looked it up on Barnes and Noble’s site and it’s sales rank there is 118. Not as high as it is on Amazon, but still pretty high.

I live in a rural area. I’m not surprised.

Funny, I looked up The Nephilim and it’s ranked #50,522. Nowhere near the top 100…

…oh there’s a book? I thought you meant the old goth band…

Interesting. I have been secretly accusing them of targeting. Based on your response, this doesn’t seem to be the case.

I still can’t believe that this book belongs in the top 20, and now I have to suspect that they accept bribes to position a book. Wasn’t that illegal in the music industry?

But then this piece of nonesense is #11. Stonehenge & the Pyramids! Whee!
