Have there been any published reports of the longevity of the Kindle yet? I understand that the Kindle 2 has a no user-replacable parts, even the battery. Has that been a problem for customers yet?
The K2 has only been out for three months, so any battery problems at this point would be replaced under warranty. (Believe the device has a 1-year warranty.)
I wouldn’t expect battery problems to be a significant issue. AFAIK, non-user-replaceable batteries are not a huge deterrent or problem with iPods or iPhones.
In a few months, I’m sure there will be do-it-yourself replacement batteries for people brave enough to pop the case open.
I just bought one for my son, (K2) and he is using it all the time, so if there are problems I expect to find them pretty quickly. He loves it BTW.
