Amazon not delivering packages on time, anyone else notice this?

today they said I was getting a package by 8 PM. It came at 7:53

How are you getting stuff so quickly? I placed orders, one ten days ago and one four days ago and both show delivery dates exactly four weeks later. Neither is particularly critical or crisis-related so I have no reason to complain.

Do you live near a big Amazon warehouse? A lot of the stuff that has come early for me came from 20 miles away in Durham so I figure that site must stock a lot of stuff. And later this year they are opening a really big warehouse with 1500 workers 20 miles away also. What’s really interesting is that most of the time they ship it from a Durham site to another Durham site. I suppose the 2nd site is where the trucks pick up the packages.

They have been surprisingly fast considering the situation. Promise delivery in several days and get it in 2 days (and once in one day). OTOH, one of those items was delivered to a neighbor.

Mrs. FtG’s latest order could be interesting. Two items. One already came into town. One several states away. Guess which one is promised to be delivered today and which is promised tomorrow. :dubious:

I have a delivery that should be coming today and while it’s technically late, I have no idea who to blame on this one.
Why would Amazon send a package to a business, via USPS on a Sunday? More importantly, since when did USPS do deliveries on Easter Sunday? I understand they’ve been doing some Amazon work on Sundays, but Easter Sunday?

I still wish they gave us some option to push the delivery back a little in order to pick a day. I’m not talking about ‘no rush delivery’ or having an Amazon delivery day (which I have issues with to begin with). My issue is, for example, I have a delivery that’s set for Sunday, but I don’t want it on Sunday, I want it on Monday. But my options will be something like Sunday or two weeks from next Thursday (no rush).
I’d just like the ability to push it off a day or two until it’s more convenient.

Their general strategy right now seems to be to underpromise and overdeliver. Everything I’ve gotten during the pandemic comes a day or two earlier than they said it would–something that never happened before.

The dates are all further away than normal, mind you, and the actual delivery is longer than it would normally take. And much that you can order is delayed tremendously. I’m not saying that they are moving faster–just that their date estimates are conservative. They seem to pick longer dates “just in case.”

At least, with actual Amazon fulfilled stuff with Prime. Everything else is crapshoot.

I’ve never been able to get an Amazon Fresh delivery slot. I have an order that’s been sitting out there for over a week (closer to two weeks). Every day I check, and for the month time range they allow me to check, there’s never an open slot. ???

I had an Amazon package delivered Easter Sunday by USPS. The driver said he had volunteered because the pay was good.

Amazon seems to be delivering everything faster these days.
I even managed to order a small bottle of hand sanitizer a week or so back, with a promised delivery date of “June 1” and it came in a few days later.

Now, USPS on the other hand, is starting to annoy me. I have three packages in limbo in the USPS system: two eBay packages shipped from different sellers, and one gift I sent to a friend in my own state that hasn’t arrived at his house.

The first of the troubled packages was supposed to arrive on the 6th and still hasn’t appeared. I’m not hopeful about the package that was supposed to arrive yesterday but shows up as “will be late” in their tracker.

FedEx delivered my Amazon package on Easter. Normally they use UPS or USPS

Well I don’t know if it’s because Amazon has ramped up their staffing or because it’s an item that’s considered essential, but I ordered a network cable today and it said to be delivered on Sunday. We will see…

I got an egg cooker in 1 day, it came from warehouse about 200 miles away.

Ordered 2 items yesterday . They shipped today and I will get them today.

My Amazon orders, essential and not, have all been on time, but I think I may be cheating. My Amazon Prime account is a business account, so maybe that helps?

I just ordered about 10 prime items (toys).

According to Amazon, 2 will be on time, 4 will be about 3-4 days, the other 4 will be a week or more.

If that holds up, it will definitely be the worst prime shipping service we have ever had.

Not that I am trying to complain in the middle of a pandemic, I am just giving data.

I think maybe their computer has cabin fever. Got a text today saying a package would be delivered yesterday. It did not come yesterday.
